About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Are you someone who can look at a bare concrete space and immediately visualize the finished masterpiece? If you've spent the last few years leading skilled trade teams and turning design blueprints into reality, this Civil Foreman (Fitout) role on Al Khan Corniche Road might just be your next chapter. We're seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented foreman who thrives at job sites, ensuring fitout works are done safely, efficiently, and — above all — beautifully.

About the Company

Nestled along the vibrant waterfront, our company has carved out a reputation for quality in UAE’s ever-evolving fitout landscape. We’re mid-sized, steadily growing, and take genuine pride in every project — whether it’s a boutique retail space or a luxury residence. Here, collaboration isn’t just a buzzword; our project managers, site crews, and even our admin team work as one clued-in unit. And yes, our Friday breakfasts together are legendary (fresh karak, anyone?).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervising and guiding teams for all interior and finishing works — from painting and plastering to carpentry, waterproofing, masonry, and tile installation.
  • Coordinating daily site activities, making sure each trade works in sync to meet project milestones.
  • Inspecting workmanship meticulously and troubleshooting on-the-spot — you’re the go-to for quick fixes and proactive prevention.
  • Liaising with project engineers and subcontractors; you’ll keep lines of communication open and updates timely.
  • Enforcing strict safety standards to ensure every crew member heads home safe and sound.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, then translating those specs into actionable tasks for your team.
  • Keeping tools, materials, and manpower organized — a jobsite doesn’t run itself, but with you around, it might just seem that way.
  • Reporting progress (and the occasional snag) to the site manager — transparency is part of your DNA.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • 2–4 years of civil or fitout foreman experience, ideally with projects in the UAE.
  • Proven ability to supervise skilled trades — your team looks up to you, literally and figuratively.
  • Solid understanding of fitout works including painting, plastering, carpentry, waterproofing, masonry, and tile installation.
  • Ability to read drawings and execute them faithfully on-site.
  • Familiarity with UAE safety protocols and construction best practices.
  • Strong communication skills in English (other languages a plus).
  • A knack for quick problem-solving and juggling priorities when timelines get tight.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior experience with high-end or fast-track fitout projects.
  • UAE driving license.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary package and allowances.
  • Stable, growing company with a portfolio of eye-catching projects.
  • Supportive management that values your site savvy — your voice truly matters here.
  • Friendly, multicultural team; you’re never alone when the pressure’s on.
  • Regular training opportunities for career development.
  • Fair schedules and respect for work-life balance — we really mean it.

We’re building a team where your leadership on-site isn’t just valued; it’s vital to our success. If you’re ready to guide our projects from raw space to stunning finish, let’s connect!

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you explain how you troubleshoot issues when multiple trades are working in close succession with tight deadlines?
  • Share an example of how you’ve helped skilled workers improve performance or resolve a team conflict on-site.
  • How do you manage communication and keep project engineers, subcontractors, and your team updated, especially when timelines shift?
  • What strategies do you use to keep tools, materials, and manpower organized to avoid delays or downtime on site?
  • In previous roles, have you ever overseen high-end or fast-track projects? What did you find most challenging or rewarding?
  • Our team values open feedback and collaboration—how do you approach constructive discussions with colleagues from diverse backgrounds?
  • Given our emphasis on both efficiency and aesthetics, how do you balance speed with precise attention to detail in your fitout supervision?
  • How do you handle pressure when project milestones are at risk, and what keeps you motivated during high-stress periods?
  • What motivates you to lead teams and take ownership of the finished product on a project?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a Civil Foreman (Fitout) role with 2–4 years of experience in the UAE, you should expect a monthly salary in the range of 5,000 to 7,500 AED, depending on your skills and the complexity of past projects. Similar positions in mid-sized fitout firms often include additional site or transportation allowances, so be sure to factor those into your discussions. Given your supervisory responsibilities and the importance of UAE experience, aiming for the higher end of this range is reasonable if your background closely matches the job’s requirements.
