About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Build Something That Matters on Yas Island

There's a certain kind of satisfaction that comes from pointing at a finished structure and saying, "I helped build that." If you're a skilled construction worker who's been looking for steady work on one of Abu Dhabi's most exciting developments, this might be exactly the opportunity you've been waiting for. We're assembling a crew of experienced tradespeople for a project on Yas Island — one of the capital's fastest-growing hubs — and we need people who can start right away and hit the ground running.

Who We Are

We're a contracting team that's been delivering construction projects across the UAE for years, and we've built our reputation on two things: doing quality work and treating our workers like professionals. Our sites are organized, our schedules are realistic, and our supervisors actually listen. On this project, you'll be joining a diverse crew of carpenters, steel fixers, and general site hands who take pride in what they build — and we make sure that effort doesn't go unnoticed.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take on carpentry work — formwork, timber framing, and shuttering for concrete structures — or steel fixing, depending on your trade and experience
  • Read and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and instructions from site engineers
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials to precise specifications (no eyeballing it — accuracy matters here)
  • Coordinate with other trades on-site to keep the project moving on schedule
  • Follow all health and safety protocols — we take this seriously, and so should you
  • Keep your work area organized and report any issues to your supervisor promptly

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • A valid UAE Residence Visa and Emirates ID — this is non-negotiable, as we cannot process new visas for this project
  • Proven construction or site experience in your trade (carpentry or steel fixing)
  • Ability to join immediately — we're mobilizing fast
  • Physically fit and ready for hands-on site work in Abu Dhabi's climate
  • A reliable, team-first attitude — we work as a crew, not as individuals

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous experience on large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with UAE construction standards and site practices
  • Your own basic hand tools (though major equipment is provided)

Not sure you tick every box? If you've got the visa, the experience, and the drive, we'd still love to hear from you.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Monthly salary — stable, predictable pay based on your experience and trade
  • Project duration of 2–4 months, with potential for continued work on future projects if you perform well
  • Work on Yas Island, one of Abu Dhabi's most dynamic development zones
  • A supportive site team that respects your skills and keeps communication clear
  • Immediate start — no waiting around for weeks to begin earning

We know construction work is tough, and we don't pretend otherwise. But a fair wage, a well-run site, and a crew that has your back make all the difference. If that sounds like the kind of place you want to work, we're ready to hear from you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk me through a recent project where you did formwork or shuttering for a concrete pour — what was the structure, and how did you approach the setup?
  • When you're working from a technical drawing and something doesn't quite add up on-site, how do you handle it before it becomes a problem?
  • Steel fixers and carpenters often need to coordinate closely on the same structure. Can you give an example of how you've worked alongside another trade to avoid clashes or delays?
  • What's your process for checking your own measurements and cuts before assembly, especially when the tolerances are tight?
  • Tell me about a time you spotted a safety hazard on-site that others had missed. What did you do, and what was the outcome?
  • Have you worked on large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects before? How did that site differ from smaller residential work in terms of organization and pace?
  • Describe a situation where you had to redo work because of a mistake — yours or someone else's. How did you handle it, and what did you learn?
  • If your supervisor asked you to speed up a task but you felt rushing would compromise quality, how would you approach that conversation?
  • This role is on Yas Island and we're mobilizing fast. Are you currently in the UAE with a valid residence visa and Emirates ID, and how soon could you realistically start?
  • Working outdoors in Abu Dhabi's heat isn't for everyone. How do you manage your energy and stay productive through long shifts in those conditions?
  • We run tight crews where everyone pitches in. Can you tell me about a time you helped a teammate finish their task even though it wasn't your responsibility?
  • What does a well-run construction site look like to you? What's one thing supervisors do that makes your job easier — and one thing that makes it harder?
  • Why are you interested in this particular project, and what would you want to get out of a 2-to-4-month

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For skilled construction roles like carpentry and steel fixing on a project in Abu Dhabi, you should expect a monthly salary in the range of 4,000 to 7,000 AED, depending on your specific trade, years of experience, and whether you bring your own tools. Similar roles on large commercial or infrastructure projects in the UAE usually offer toward the higher end of that range, especially for candidates who can join immediately and have proven experience on major sites. If you're highly experienced or taking on extra responsibility, don't hesitate to negotiate above 7,000 AED — good tradespeople are in demand, and the right employer will pay fairly for the right skills.
