About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Do you thrive on face-to-face interactions and enjoy turning quick conversations into lasting business connections? As a Customer Service Representative (Field/Outdoor), you'll have the chance to get out from behind the desk and take our services straight to the people who need them most. If you're the sort who gets energized by meeting new faces and loves a challenge, this is the kind of role that will keep you moving (and never bored). Plus, in today’s changing market, hands-on relationships are as valuable as ever — and that’s exactly what you’ll be building.

About the Company

We’re an energetic team driven by curiosity and a passion for genuine service. Our company isn’t your average corporate machine — we pride ourselves on our flexibility, our sense of humor, and the way we celebrate every new client, big or small. Growth is in our DNA (and yes, Friday wins are toasted with real coffee or the best shawarma in the city). We’re scaling up fast, but never too fast to lose sight of what matters: real connections, integrity, and having each other’s backs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Visiting a variety of local shops, companies, and trade-based businesses to introduce our offerings
  • Explaining services clearly — always tailored to the specific needs of each client
  • Creating genuine, trusting relationships (we’re not into pushy sales for their own sake)
  • Identifying opportunities during visits and converting them into active sales leads
  • Acting as an ambassador for our brand in the local business community
  • Sharing feedback from the field with the internal team, so we keep improving
  • Keeping a simple record of your visits, so we can celebrate those small wins
  • Collaborating with your teammates to share best practices (and the best client coffee spots!)

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Comfortable with frequent travel within your assigned territory
  • Personable communication and storytelling skills — you make an instant impression
  • Ability to build trust and rapport quickly, no matter the business size
  • Self-motivation; you set your own pace and goals
  • Willingness to walk into new places and start a conversation

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience in sales, customer service, retail, or field work
  • Local business network or previous relationships in the area
  • A knack for handling the occasional rejection — and bouncing back smiling

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive base salary plus performance bonuses
  • Flexible field schedule — you manage your visits
  • Company mobile and travel allowance for all your outdoor work
  • Supportive team who actually enjoys hearing your stories from the field
  • Lots of independence, but never alone: ready help and camaraderie always available
  • Ongoing training and chances to grow as we expand
  • Perhaps best of all: real opportunities to build a name for yourself in your local business scene

You won’t be stuck in an office staring at screens — instead, you’ll be out making a difference, one handshake (or friendly chat) at a time. If you’re excited by a role where every day looks a little different, this could be the perfect fit.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you share an example of a time when you introduced a new product or service to a business owner or client in person? What approach did you use to get their attention and interest?
  • How do you adjust your messaging to suit different types of local businesses, from small shops to larger companies?
  • When visiting a potential client for the first time, what steps do you take to quickly establish trust and rapport?
  • Describe your experience keeping records of field visits or client interactions. What tools or methods have you found most efficient for tracking your daily activity?
  • Tell me about a time you recognized a sales opportunity during a casual conversation. How did you transition from an initial chat to an active sales lead?
  • How do you handle situations where a potential client expresses disinterest or politely rejects your offering? Can you walk me through your typical response?
  • Share a story where feedback you gathered from the field led to meaningful changes in your team’s approach or strategy.
  • Our team values open sharing of success stories and best practices. Can you give an example of how you collaborated with peers to improve results or morale?
  • The role requires a lot of independence and self-motivation. How do you set and achieve your goals when your schedule is largely self-managed?
  • What motivates you to get out and connect with new people each day, especially on challenging days when energy might be low?
  • Our company celebrates small wins and focuses on community and camaraderie. How do you contribute to a positive, supportive team environment?
  • Flexibility and humor play a big part in our culture — can you recall a situation at work where your adaptability or sense of fun made a difference?
  • What attracts you to a field-based customer service role over a more traditional desk job?
  • If you were to join our team, how would you go about getting to know local businesses in your territory and building your own network?
