About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Thinking about making your next move as a cashier, but hoping for a workplace that truly values your customer service skills? We’re looking for friendly, detail-oriented Cashiers to join us at our thriving store in Al Taawun Area, Sharjah. This is more than a basic cash register role — it’s your chance to be the first smile a customer sees, and the trusted teammate your colleagues count on. If you enjoy working in a vibrant retail environment and like the idea of a supportive expat community, this opening might just be for you.
About the Company
Tucked into the heart of Al Taawun, our retail business has become a favorite among locals and residents alike. Our team is a lively mix of personalities who believe every shift is smoother when we support one another (pro tip: our break room banter is legendary, and everyone looks forward to birthdays for a reason). We’re committed to making customers feel at home, and that sense of welcome starts from within.
As a company, we pride ourselves on stability, mutual respect, and making sure everyone has the tools and encouragement they need to succeed. Whether it’s morning coffee together or helping one another during a busy rush, you’ll quickly feel you’re part of something more than just a day job.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcoming customers with a professional attitude and genuine kindness — you’re often their first and last point of contact!
- Accurately processing purchases, returns, and payments with care, whether it’s cash, card, or digital payment.
- Handling customer questions, feedback, or concerns with efficiency and a solutions-first attitude.
- Maintaining a sanitized, organized, and tidy cashier counter throughout your shift.
- Checking and reconciling cash drawer balances at the start and end of your shift.
- Collaborating with other staff members to help the store run smoothly — yes, sometimes we lend a hand on the shop floor!
- Taking responsibility for your workspace and proactively reporting any issues to management.
- Adhering to all company procedures and health & safety guidelines on-site.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Conversational fluency in Tagalog.
- At least 1 year of experience as a cashier or in customer service, preferably within the UAE.
- A professional, courteous demeanor every time you interact with customers or teammates.
- Strong attention to detail when it comes to handling payments and receipts.
- Current UAE residence visa preferred (this smooths out onboarding and housing arrangements for everyone).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with POS systems or grocery/retail cashiering.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment.
- Flexibility to adjust to different shift timings when needed.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Company-provided accommodation, just a short distance from work — more time to enjoy life, less time commuting.
- Competitive salary based on your experience — we believe in fair compensation.
- Supportive, multilingual work environment where teamwork isn’t just a buzzword.
- Opportunities to learn, grow, and pick up new skills or responsibilities as you show initiative.
- Enjoy stability and peace of mind as part of a well-established company.
- Get-togethers and team celebrations that make work feel a little less like…work.
We know that the best work happens when people feel appreciated and settled. Here, you’re not just another name on a roster — you’re part of a family that roots for your success.
