About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Elevator Sales Executive – Abu Dhabi

Ever tried selling something people only think about when it breaks? Elevators are a little different — they’re the invisible backbone of every tower, mall, and hospital in Abu Dhabi, and someone has to get them into the building in the first place. That someone could be you. This is a chance to sell a product that literally moves people, in a city that never stops building upward.

About the Company

We’re an established elevator company with a solid footprint across the UAE, and Abu Dhabi is where we’re pushing hardest right now. The team here is small enough that your wins get noticed, but backed by enough engineering and installation muscle that you’re never selling something we can’t deliver. If you’ve worked in this industry before, you know how rare that combination is.

We’re not a call-center-style sales floor. You’ll be out in the field, meeting consultants, contractors, and facility managers face to face — the way elevator deals actually get done in this market.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Hunt for new business across residential towers, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities — no waiting for leads to fall into your lap.
  • Meet clients on-site to understand what they need, whether it’s a new installation, a modernization, or a maintenance contract.
  • Prepare and present quotations, then stick with the deal through negotiation until it’s signed.
  • Build relationships with consultants, developers, and contractors who influence elevator decisions long before a tender goes out.
  • Keep your pipeline organized and report progress honestly — we’d rather hear about a stalled deal early than a surprise at month-end.
  • Coordinate with our technical team so what you promise on paper is what gets installed on site.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • A valid UAE driving license — this role lives on the road.
  • Proven outdoor sales experience, ideally in elevators, construction materials, or a related building-services field.
  • Comfort negotiating with decision-makers, not just gatekeepers.
  • Enough technical curiosity to talk intelligently about specs without pretending to be an engineer.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Existing relationships with consultants or contractors in Abu Dhabi.
  • Your own visa — it makes onboarding faster, though we’re open to discussing options for the right person.
  • Arabic language skills, which help enormously in this market.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you — sales instinct and drive matter more than a perfect checklist.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Real earning potential: Competitive base plus commission that rewards you for the deals you close, not just the calls you make.
  • Autonomy: No micromanaging your day. You plan your route, you own your territory.
  • Support when it counts: Engineering and installation teams who actually pick up the phone.
  • Growth path: Strong performers here tend to move into senior or key-account roles — we promote from within.
  • Abu Dhabi focus: A territory with serious construction activity and plenty of room to build your book of business.

If you’re the kind of person who’d rather be out closing deals than sitting behind a desk waiting for the phone to ring, this role was built for you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through how you'd approach a brand-new territory in Abu Dhabi where you don't have existing relationships yet. What does your first 30 days look like?
  • Elevator sales often involve long cycles with consultants, contractors, and facility managers all weighing in. How do you keep a deal moving when decisions stall for months?
  • Tell me about a time you lost a deal you were confident about. What did you learn, and how did you change your approach afterward?
  • How comfortable are you discussing technical specifications — load capacity, speed, machine-room-less vs. hydraulic systems — with a consultant who knows the engineering better than you do?
  • Describe a situation where you had to negotiate with a decision-maker who had a cheaper quote in hand. How did you handle it?
  • This role involves a lot of windshield time across Abu Dhabi. How do you plan your week so you're spending time with the right people, not just the most convenient ones?
  • Give me an example of a time you had to tell your manager about a deal that was falling apart. How did you frame it, and what happened next?
  • What's your read on the Abu Dhabi construction market right now? Where do you see the biggest opportunities for elevator installations or modernization over the next year or two?
  • Tell me about a relationship you built with a consultant or contractor that eventually turned into repeat business. How did you cultivate it?
  • How do you handle the handoff between what you promise a client and what your technical team can actually deliver? Have you ever had to walk something back?
  • Why elevators, specifically? What draws you to this industry compared to other building-services or construction sales roles?
  • Describe how you stay organized when you're juggling multiple deals at different stages — some in negotiation, some just starting, some going quiet.
  • What does a good working relationship with your engineering and installation colleagues look like from your side of the desk?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For an outdoor sales role like this in Abu Dhabi, you should expect a base salary of around 6,000 to 10,000 AED per month, with commission typically adding another 2,000 to 5,000 AED or more for strong performers. If you bring existing relationships with consultants or contractors in the elevator or construction sector, you can reasonably push for the higher end of that range or negotiate a more aggressive commission structure. Similar field sales roles in building services and construction materials usually land in the 7,000 to 12,000 AED range all-in, so don't undersell your experience if you've got a proven track record in the industry.
