Salary: Negotiable

About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it’s like to be at the heart of a busy engineering office? As our new Engineering Office Assistant, you’ll be the steady hand that keeps daily operations running smoothly here in Al Qusais Industrial Area 2, Dubai. This isn’t your average admin gig—think construction, technical drawings, the hum of collaboration, and the satisfaction that comes with being the go-to support for a team that’s building the future. If you thrive in organized chaos and love being the dependable backbone, you might just belong here.

About the Company

We’re a close-knit engineering and contracting team with deep roots in Dubai's construction landscape. Our office is a lively blend of site visits, brainstorming sessions, and midweek coffee debates over the best structural solutions. While we embrace industry standards, we’re not afraid of doing things a little differently—whether that means having impromptu lunch potlucks or championing innovative, practical approaches to every project. Growth, safety, and respect are more than buzzwords here; they’re the way we succeed and support one another every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Keeping our office processes (and paperwork!) organized so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Assisting in preparing, filing, and updating project documentation—especially those technical drawings and AutoCAD files everyone depends on
  • Coordinating day-to-day administrative tasks: scheduling meetings, handling calls, greeting visitors, and supporting colleagues with their requests
  • Assisting the engineering team by printing large-format plans, scanning drawings, and helping circulate updated documents
  • Interfacing with suppliers, subcontractors, and site engineers to ensure smooth information flow and timely deliveries
  • Managing office supplies (somehow, you always know when we’re running low on printer ink)
  • Pitching in on basic technical tasks, like minor edits to AutoCAD files—you don’t need to be a designer, but you aren’t afraid to open the software
  • Juggling multiple priorities without breaking a sweat (okay, maybe a little sweat—it’s Dubai, after all)

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in an administrative, clerical, or office support role—ideally within construction, contracting, or engineering
  • Solid organizational chops; you love a tidy desk and a well-labeled folder
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, and the confidence to navigate or print technical drawings
  • Strong communication skills (fluent in English; extra points for Arabic)
  • Comfort working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic digital tools
  • A proactive mindset—you spot what needs doing, and you get it done (sometimes before anyone else even notices)
  • Detail orientation—you’re the one who catches the typo or the missing signature in a stack of forms

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary and plenty of opportunities to learn new skills on the job
  • Friendly, supportive colleagues who appreciate initiative and good humor
  • Exposure to real-world engineering and construction projects—see your work taking shape around you
  • Convenient Al Qusais Industrial Area 2 location (with parking, of course)
  • Occasional team lunches and “celebrate-the-small-wins” gatherings
  • A culture where your reliability and ideas count and are genuinely appreciated

We know great things get built by great teams—and that starts with people like you. If you’re looking for a role where you’ll learn something new every day and make a real impact, you could be just who we need.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your experience handling technical documentation or drawings, especially in an engineering or construction office environment?
  • How comfortable are you with AutoCAD—have you ever printed, edited, or organized technical files using this software?
  • Describe a time when you had to juggle multiple administrative tasks with competing deadlines. What strategies did you use to prioritize?
  • What’s your process for making sure project paperwork, such as contracts or technical revisions, doesn’t fall through the cracks?
  • The team often relies on fast turnaround for large-format drawing prints and scanned updates. How would you manage these requests while keeping other office priorities on track?
  • Can you share your approach for coordinating between different groups—like suppliers, engineers, or site staff—to ensure everyone gets the information they need?
  • Tell us about a time you spotted an error or missing detail in a document before it became an issue. What steps did you take?
  • Our office runs on collaboration and a bit of organized chaos. How do you keep yourself motivated and organized in a lively, sometimes unpredictable workspace?
  • Have you worked in a multicultural or multilingual team before? How do you ensure clear communication when not everyone shares the same first language?
  • If a colleague needed urgent help with a technical file you’re only somewhat familiar with, how would you tackle the situation?
  • How do you react when a coworker is stressed or the atmosphere gets a bit hectic? What do you do to keep the office positive?
  • What excites you about being part of a team that’s directly involved in building and construction projects in Dubai?
  • Describe the type of work culture or team dynamic where you feel you do your best work.
  • How do you keep yourself continually learning, especially when it comes to picking up new office software or technical tasks?
