About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it’s like to be the heartbeat of a fitness community? As our new Female Receptionist, you’ll do more than just greet members—you’ll brighten their day, answer their questions, and help set the tone for every workout. If you’re looking for a role where your energy and people skills really matter (and where you’ll get to know a bunch of dedicated, health-conscious folks), this could be just the next step you’ve been waiting for.

About the Company

Nestled in the buzzing Maritime City Port Rashid area, our fitness club is more than just a place to work up a sweat. We pride ourselves on being a true community—a supportive space where members cheer each other on, and our team genuinely enjoys coming to work every day. From spontaneous smoothie tastings to monthly team fitness challenges, we make sure it’s not just what you do, but who you do it with that counts. We’re on a mission to help our members live their healthiest lives, and we celebrate every win, big or small.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Welcoming every member and guest with a warm smile—yes, you’ll quickly become the face everyone knows!
  • Handling member check-ins and registrations smoothly, even during the morning rush.
  • Answering questions (and lots of them!), whether it’s about class schedules, membership options, or where the towel return bin is hiding.
  • Managing phone calls and emails with a friendly, solution-oriented attitude.
  • Keeping the front desk area tidy, organized, and inviting—that first impression matters.
  • Coordinating bookings for classes, personal training sessions, and locker rentals.
  • Liaising with trainers and club staff to ensure a seamless experience for everyone.
  • Occasionally pitching in for club events and helping set up decorations or giveaways (we like to mix things up!).

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • A warm, approachable personality with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role—bonus points if it’s been in hospitality, gyms, salons, or similar environments.
  • Confidence using computers and basic office software (think: checking schedules, handling emails, updating membership info).
  • Professional appearance and positive energy—our reception area sets the vibe for the whole club!
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including some evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Arabic language skills.
  • Familiarity with fitness club management software.
  • A personal interest in health, wellness, or fitness.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Complimentary club membership—yes, your own fitness goals matter too!
  • Supportive, upbeat team that truly values every member and staff contribution.
  • Regular staff socials, from healthy breakfast spreads to fun team workouts.
  • Opportunities for on-the-job learning and growth with an established, expanding brand.
  • Modern facilities, easy public transport access, and a refreshing view of the harbor right outside.
  • Fair, competitive compensation and performance-based recognition.

Here, you’re not just another face behind the desk—you’re an integral part of the club’s spirit. If you like the idea of welcoming people to a healthier, happier day (and enjoying plenty of camaraderie along the way), this might just be your next favorite place to work.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • How would you deal with a situation where a member is upset about a booking issue or a class being full?
  • What experience do you have using club management software or similar booking systems, and how comfortable are you troubleshooting basic tech-related issues at the front desk?
  • If a member asks you about upcoming club events or class schedules, but you’re unsure of the answer, how would you handle their question?
  • This job requires regular interaction with trainers and other staff to ensure smooth operations. Can you give an example of how you’ve coordinated with colleagues in a fast-paced or service-focused setting?
  • Our reception area is the first impression members get of our club. How do you ensure the space is welcoming and organized, even during the busiest hours?
  • How would you handle answering multiple phone calls and emails while also assisting guests in person?
  • Imagine you’re asked to help decorate or organize for an unexpected club event—what’s your approach to pitching in on short notice?
  • Tell us about a time when your personal approach or energy noticeably brightened someone’s day or contributed to a positive team environment.
  • What motivates you to work in a health, fitness, or wellness-focused environment?
  • Our club values team spirit and community. How do you foster a sense of camaraderie and connection with both colleagues and members?
  • Are you comfortable working flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends? How do you organize your schedule to maintain energy and enthusiasm?
  • If you noticed a recurring member question or issue, how would you bring it to the attention of the team or suggest a solution?
  • How do you balance professionalism and friendliness when meeting new members or dealing with challenging situations at the front desk?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

You should expect a salary of at least 3,000 to 4,000 AED per month for a receptionist role like this in a fitness club, especially if you have good English communication skills and some customer service experience. Similar positions in the UAE, particularly those that require flexibility with shifts and a proactive, welcoming attitude, often fall within this range, with potential for slight increases if you bring relevant experience or additional language skills like Arabic.
