About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Build the Backbone of Abu Dhabi’s Skyline — We’re Hiring a Foreman

Ever wondered what it takes to turn a set of blueprints into a finished building — on time, on budget, and without the daily chaos that eats into your weekends? That’s where you come in. We’re a well-established contracting firm in the UAE, and we need a Foreman who’s been around the block (literally) on Abu Dhabi job sites. This isn’t a desk job. It’s a boots-on-the-ground role where your experience and judgment keep crews moving and projects on track. If you’ve been waiting for a role that respects what you know, this is it.

About Us

We’ve been building in the UAE long enough to know that reputation is earned one project at a time — not with glossy brochures. Our teams work across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, and we’ve built our name on showing up, doing the work right, and treating our people like professionals rather than numbers. The culture here is simple: we plan hard, we communicate clearly, and we don’t leave anyone guessing about what’s expected. Friday mornings are usually quiet, but during a big pour, you’ll find the whole site buzzing — and that energy is exactly why people stay with us for years.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and supervise daily site activities, making sure crews know their tasks before the first brick is laid
  • Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, then translate them into clear instructions for your team
  • Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers so materials and manpower show up when they’re needed — not three hours late
  • Keep a sharp eye on quality and safety, catching issues before they become expensive rework
  • Track daily progress and report back to project management with honest, accurate updates
  • Manage site manpower, resolve conflicts quickly, and keep morale steady even when deadlines tighten
  • Make sure work complies with UAE construction standards and project specifications

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Solid, hands-on experience as a Foreman in contracting and construction works within the UAE — you know how things actually get done here
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings without needing someone to walk you through every line
  • Good command of English — enough to give clear instructions, write simple reports, and communicate with engineers and clients
  • Physically fit and ready to be on-site daily in Abu Dhabi

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience across multiple project types (villas, commercial buildings, fit-outs)
  • Basic computer skills for progress reporting
  • A valid UAE driving license

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you. If you’ve got the site experience and the right attitude, we can work with the rest.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Location that works for you: Our site is in Al Mussafah Al Shabiya, Abu Dhabi — no brutal cross-city commutes
  • Steady work: We’re an established company with a healthy project pipeline, not a fly-by-night operation
  • Respect for your time: Overtime is paid, and we don’t treat long hours as a badge of honor
  • Growth potential: Prove yourself on site, and there’s a clear path to senior foreman or site engineer roles
  • Real team culture: You’ll work with people who’ve been in the trade for decades — and who actually enjoy teaching what they know

At the end of the day, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in seeing a project rise from the ground up. If that sounds like you, don’t overthink it — send your CV via WhatsApp, and let’s talk.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through how you'd approach the first hour of a typical site day — how do you decide what gets prioritized before the crew even picks up a tool?
  • You're looking at a structural drawing and something doesn't line up with what's actually on the ground. What's your process for flagging it and getting it resolved without stalling the crew?
  • Tell me about a time a subcontractor or supplier showed up late with materials and it threatened your schedule. How did you handle it in the moment, and what did you change going forward?
  • How do you personally check quality on a task before it gets covered up or signed off? Give me an example of something you caught that could have turned into costly rework.
  • Describe a situation where two crew members or trades were at each other's throats on site. How did you step in, and what was the outcome?
  • What's your approach to safety briefings — do you run them a certain way, and how do you get guys to actually take them seriously rather than just nod along?
  • You notice a crew is falling behind on a critical path activity. What are the first three things you do, and who do you talk to first?
  • How comfortable are you writing daily progress reports and communicating updates to project management? Give me an idea of what your typical report looks like.
  • Tell me about a project in the UAE that you're proud of. What was your specific role, and what made it challenging?
  • Have you worked across different project types — villas, commercial, fit-outs? Which do you find most demanding, and why?
  • We work with people from a lot of different backgrounds on site. How do you make sure instructions land clearly when English isn't everyone's first language?
  • What keeps you in this line of work? After all these years, what still makes you want to show up on site every morning?
  • When deadlines tighten and the pressure's on, how do you

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a Foreman role with UAE contracting experience on Abu Dhabi sites, similar positions typically pay between 6,000 and 10,000 AED per month, with the upper end going to those who can independently read drawings, manage manpower, and handle reporting with minimal supervision. If you bring solid GCC site experience and strong coordination skills, you should expect a salary of at least 7,000 to 8,000 AED, plus paid overtime, which can add meaningfully to your take-home. Entry-level foremen or those still building UAE-specific experience may start closer to 5,000 to 6,000 AED, so it's worth being upfront about your project history when you negotiate.
