Salary: Negotiable

Category: Construction | Job Id: 8108

About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever thought about what it takes to keep a landmark project moving forward, day after day? As a General Worker/Laborer with our team in Dubai’s bustling Jabel Ali Hills, you’ll be the backbone of our well-established contracting company. We’re looking for hands-on pros who know their way around a construction site and want to grow with a team that treats every project like it’s a new beginning. If you’re motivated, reliable, and ready to make a real impact, your next big step could start right here.

About the Company

We’re not your average contracting outfit. From our home base in Jabel Ali Hills, we’ve poured decades of experience (and a lot of sweat) into some of Dubai’s standout constructions. What really sets us apart? Our on-site camaraderie — don’t be surprised if you get swept up in friendly banter over shared lunches or the healthy competition for “most reliable teammate” each month. The goal here isn’t just to raise buildings — it’s to raise each other up along the way.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting skilled tradespeople and supervisors across day-to-day site activities — no two days (or buildings) are quite the same
  • Handling manual loading, unloading, and movement of materials and equipment across variable environments
  • Keeping work areas organized and tidy, ensuring safety is second nature
  • Assisting with basic construction tasks — digging, mixing, lifting, assembling, and dismantling as required
  • Pitching in wherever needed, whether it's cleanup after a busy pour or helping set up machinery
  • Reporting safety hazards or incidents promptly — we look after each other out here
  • Taking initiative during unexpected shifts in plan (those happen!)
  • Showing up on time, ready to work, and giving each job your honest effort

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Proven experience as a general worker, laborer, or similar hands-on construction role
  • Physically fit — you’re comfortable with lifting, bending, and standing through a full shift
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to follow instructions carefully
  • Willingness to work outdoors in Dubai’s climate (we all hydrate together!)
  • Eligibility to work in the UAE (company can provide visa, but preference for those with residence visa)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior work on large-scale building projects
  • Familiarity with basic construction tools and site procedures
  • Some English or Hindi/Urdu communication skills

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Direct hiring — absolutely no agents or middlemen
  • Company visa sponsorship available for qualifying candidates
  • Competitive basic salary — reviewed regularly as you help us grow
  • Transportation provided between Dubai and the site — saving you daily headaches
  • Preference for candidates with their own residence visa (we value flexibility and experience)
  • Supportive crew culture — team lunches and occasional bonuses for safety and reliability
  • Room to grow — steady performers are the first we promote
  • Get your hands on major projects, not just odd jobs

Our team isn’t just building for Dubai’s future — we’re also building each other up, every single day. If you want honest work with a crew that’s got your back, this just might be the spot for you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your previous experience on construction sites, specifically tasks you handled as a general worker or laborer?
  • What steps do you take to ensure every work area you’re on stays safe and tidy, especially when the environment changes throughout the day?
  • How comfortable are you working outdoors in Dubai’s climate, and what do you do to stay productive and healthy during hot conditions?
  • Tell us about a time you needed to move heavy materials or equipment—what was your approach, and how did you ensure safety?
  • Are you familiar with using basic construction tools and equipment? Could you share examples of tools you’ve regularly used in past jobs?
  • When plans or priorities suddenly shift on site, how do you adapt? Can you give an example from your previous work where you had to react quickly to change?
  • Describe a challenging situation where you noticed a safety hazard. How did you handle it and what was the outcome?
  • Sometimes the team needs an extra set of hands outside your usual tasks—for instance, staying late to clean after a busy day. How do you feel about pitching in when needed?
  • In your previous roles, how did you make sure you fully understood instructions, particularly if they were given in English or another language you’re less familiar with?
  • Our team values reliability and showing up ready to work every day. How do you keep yourself motivated and consistent, especially during tougher stretches or routine tasks?
  • Teamwork and camaraderie are important to us. Can you share an experience where you supported a teammate or contributed to a positive team environment?
  • How do you handle disagreements or cultural differences on site to maintain a respectful and upbeat work atmosphere?
  • We offer room to grow for those who show initiative. What motivates you to take on new challenges or learn new skills on the job?
  • Why are you interested in joining a contracting company like ours, and what do you hope to contribute or achieve as part of our team?
