About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Looking for your next step up in facilities management? At Bareen Club & Restaurants, we believe a seamless guest experience starts behind the scenes. We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor who knows how to keep things running like clockwork — from the flick of the kitchen lights to the hum of the dining hall’s HVAC. If you take pride in solving problems before anyone notices there's a problem, read on.

About the Company

Bareen Club & Restaurants isn’t just a place to eat — it’s where Abu Dhabi’s community comes together to unwind, celebrate, and connect. We’re perched in Al Rahba Farms, which gives us a laid-back vibe, but don’t be fooled — our standards are sky high. Our team is tightly knit; everyone cares as much about each other as they do about delivering five-star service to guests. And when it comes to maintaining our space, we value creativity as much as we value precision (Friday “quick fix” brainstorms over good coffee aren’t unheard of).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervising all maintenance and repair activities throughout our club and restaurants, including both urgent fixes and proactive upkeep.
  • Coordinating daily tasks for a team of technicians specializing in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC — and jumping in where needed.
  • Developing and maintaining checklists and preventive maintenance schedules to dodge disasters before they start.
  • Liaising with managers, chefs, and event staff to ensure smooth operation of all critical equipment and facilities.
  • Diagnosing faults and recommending practical solutions whenever something’s not quite right.
  • Sourcing and tracking inventory of repair parts, tools, and supplies to keep everything in working order.
  • Upholding all safety standards and compliance with local regulations (you’re the go-to for when someone asks, “Are we up to code?”).
  • Training and mentoring your team; setting the standard for professional, efficient, and customer-focused maintenance work.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Proven experience in facility or property maintenance, ideally in hospitality or food service environments.
  • Strong technical background in at least two out of: electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.
  • Track record of leading or supervising a small team.
  • Capacity to juggle priorities, especially during peak service hours.
  • Hands-on approach — you’re happiest pulling out your toolkit as well as your clipboard.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and preventive maintenance planning.
  • Good communication in English (Arabic is a bonus!).

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with kitchen and restaurant equipment maintenance (from coffee machines to walk-in freezers).
  • Familiarity with UAE regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Comfortable using basic maintenance software or digital checklists.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive local salary reflecting your skills and experience.
  • On-site meals — after all, you help keep the kitchen running!
  • Uniform allowance and all the right tools for the job.
  • Supportive, close-knit team environment where your ideas and initiative matter.
  • Learning and career growth opportunities as our club and restaurants continue to expand.
  • Stable work location in the peaceful, green setting of Al Rahba Farms, away from city chaos but close enough for convenience.
  • Team traditions that make you feel like you belong — from monthly team lunches to recognition for a job well done.

Here, your handiwork doesn’t just maintain a building — it helps create a space where people make memories. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, we can’t wait to meet you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you describe your experience supervising a maintenance team in a hospitality or restaurant environment? What daily challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
  • When you spot a potential issue with an HVAC or electrical system during peak hours, how do you prioritize and coordinate your team’s response?
  • Walk us through how you’ve implemented preventive maintenance checklists or schedules in the past. What impact did this have on operations?
  • How comfortable are you diagnosing and repairing both kitchen-specific equipment (like coffee machines or freezers) and standard building systems? Can you share a specific troubleshooting success story?
  • Bareen Club values a hands-on leadership style—can you provide an example of a time you jumped in alongside your team to resolve a critical repair during a busy period?
  • How do you ensure your team consistently follows all local safety codes and compliance requirements, especially in a fast-paced restaurant setting?
  • Tell us about a time you had to coordinate with non-maintenance staff (like chefs or event managers) to prevent or resolve an urgent facilities issue. What strategies did you use to communicate effectively?
  • If your team is split between several urgent tasks and you have limited resources, how do you decide where to focus efforts first?
  • How have you handled situations where a team member was not meeting expectations in terms of professionalism or customer-focused service?
  • What steps do you take to mentor or train technicians who are new to either the hospitality industry or to specific equipment used here?
  • Describe an instance where your creativity led to a more efficient or cost-effective maintenance solution.
  • Bareen Club has a reputation for a supportive, collaborative culture—how do you contribute to that kind of work environment on your maintenance team?
  • How do you stay motivated and help keep morale high for your team during long or particularly stressful shifts?
  • Why do you think a strong maintenance team is so essential to the overall guest experience at a place like Bareen Club & Restaurants?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For an experienced Maintenance Supervisor in the hospitality sector in Abu Dhabi, you should expect a salary of at least 6,000 to 8,500 AED per month, depending on your technical expertise and supervisory experience. Similar roles in restaurants, hotels, or clubs in the UAE often offer packages within this range, sometimes with added benefits like meals or allowances, especially if you bring strong electrical or HVAC skills and a proven leadership track record.
