About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Are you the type of project manager who comes alive when orchestrating the moving parts of a truly ambitious build? As a Project Manager (Civil Engineer) in the heart of Al Jaddaf, Dubai, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the city’s ever-evolving skyline. If you thrive on the challenge of taking large-scale civil or industrial projects from that first blueprint through to the final handover, this is your stage to shine. Your expertise will guide the full project lifecycle — and yes, your impact will be anything but ordinary.

About the Company

We’re a highly respected player in Dubai’s thriving construction scene, known for turning big dreams into solid results across civil and industrial sectors. Our teams are tight-knit, quick to collaborate, and genuinely invested in each other’s success. You’ll notice that Thursday afternoon site walks are as much about camaraderie as progress updates, and sharing knowledge is practically second nature here. We’re in a growth phase, taking on landmark projects that require equal parts technical mastery and creative problem-solving — there’s never a dull moment (and rarely a silent WhatsApp chat).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading end-to-end delivery of major civil and industrial projects, from kick-off to commissioning and handover
  • Overseeing design coordination — translating client briefs into buildable solutions alongside consultants and architects
  • Developing, updating, and tracking robust project schedules that keep every stakeholder aligned and every milestone on target
  • Managing budgets with a close eye on cost efficiency, resource allocation, and quality benchmarks
  • Coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, government authorities, and utility providers to keep project wheels turning smoothly
  • Driving the procurement process — selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of critical materials
  • Monitoring safety, compliance, and environmental standards on site
  • Resolving project challenges on the fly and keeping communication lines clear with everyone from field teams to C-suite

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); PMP or equivalent certification is a plus
  • 10+ years’ hands-on experience managing the full cycle of large-scale civil or industrial projects in the UAE or GCC region
  • Proficiency in project management software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)
  • Comfortable steering multi-disciplinary teams (structural, MEP, procurement, QA/QC)
  • Strong command of English; Arabic communication is a bonus
  • Proven knack for schedule and budget control alongside risk management
  • Track record of productive coordination with consultants, subcontractors, and local authorities

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with fast-track projects or design-build contract models
  • Familiarity with sustainable building standards (LEED, Estidama, etc.)
  • Prior work on high-profile infrastructure or industrial plants in the UAE

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive compensation, annual bonuses, and housing allowances
  • Opportunity to lead some of the region’s headline projects — your work will stand out
  • Supportive, multicultural team with genuine respect for expertise and initiative
  • Flexible approach to site and office work (hybrid as project stages allow)
  • Ongoing learning — from informal peer coaching to formal professional development
  • Health insurance, annual flight allowance, and fun team events (think desert BBQs, not just boardrooms)

We’re serious about building careers as much as we’re committed to building Dubai’s future. If you’re ready for a platform where your influence matters — and your leadership inspires — we’d be delighted to meet you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through a major civil or industrial project you managed from inception to handover? What were some of the biggest challenges, and how did you overcome them?
  • How do you approach developing and updating project schedules in software like Primavera or MS Project, especially when handling multiple stakeholders and changing requirements?
  • Tell us about a time you had to quickly resolve a conflict between design intent and site reality. How did you bring consultants, contractors, and your team together to find a practical solution?
  • What strategies have you found effective for controlling project costs and ensuring adherence to strict budgets, particularly on large-scale or fast-track projects?
  • How do you prioritize and manage coordination with government authorities, utility providers, and subcontractors to maintain smooth project progress?
  • Describe your experience with sustainable construction standards — have you incorporated LEED, Estidama, or similar frameworks into any of your past projects?
  • When you’re leading multidisciplinary teams that include structural, MEP, procurement, and QA/QC personnel, how do you keep everyone aligned and motivated?
  • Share a situation when unexpected site safety or environmental concerns arose. How did you address these while ensuring compliance and keeping the project on track?
  • What’s your process for selecting suppliers and subcontractors? How do you balance quality, cost, and timely delivery in your procurement decisions?
  • Give an example of how you’ve communicated complex project updates or risks to executives or non-technical stakeholders to keep everyone clearly informed.
  • Collaboration is key here — how do you contribute to and foster the open, knowledge-sharing culture described in our teams?
  • How do you personally stay organized and focused during periods of project pressure, especially with tight deadlines and shifting priorities?
  • We value team spirit and camaraderie. What do you do to build rapport and encourage collaboration among colleagues from diverse backgrounds on your projects?
  • Why does working in a fast-paced, ambitious environment like ours excite you, and how do you see your leadership style fitting in with our company culture?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a senior Project Manager with a civil engineering background and over 10 years’ UAE experience managing large-scale projects, you should expect a monthly salary in the range of 25,000 to 40,000 AED, depending on your expertise, certifications, and the project portfolio. Similar roles in Dubai’s construction sector often include additional benefits such as housing allowance, annual bonuses, health insurance, and flight tickets, so it’s reasonable to consider these as part of your overall compensation package when negotiating.
