About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever pictured yourself as the welcoming face and first impression of a dynamic team? The Reception Assistant role at our Light House extension in Jumeira, Al Wasl Road, Al Safa 2, might be just what you’ve been looking for. Here, you’ll do more than just answer phones — you’ll be the point of connection for clients, colleagues, and visitors, all while learning the ropes of office life in a growing Dubai workplace. If you’re outgoing, detail-oriented, and ready to take your people skills to the next level, you’ll fit right in.

About the Company

We’re a team that believes in making every hello matter. Our Light House office is an extension of our core values: hospitality, efficiency, and growth. We celebrate achievements big and small, whether it’s landing a new client or simply nailing the perfect cup of coffee in our cozy shared kitchen. Friday afternoons often mean catching up over treats, and no question is ever too small to ask. In our growing Dubai office, everyone has a chance to stretch their skills and contribute to a collaborative vibe that’s hard to find elsewhere.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greeting and welcoming visitors with genuine hospitality – you’ll often be the very first (and lasting) impression of our company.
  • Handling incoming calls: fielding queries, directing calls, and taking clear messages so nothing gets lost in translation.
  • Managing front desk activities, including signing in guests, handling deliveries, and keeping reception area tidy and organized.
  • Assisting colleagues with basic admin tasks: printing, scanning, scheduling meeting rooms, and helping with event setups.
  • Keeping records up to date – from visitor logs to office supply inventories, your attention to detail will keep us running smoothly.
  • Pitching in with ad-hoc projects whenever extra hands (or a fresh perspective) are needed.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • A friendly, approachable demeanor that puts people at ease (even on the busiest days).
  • Strong organizational skills — juggling multiple tasks is your comfort zone.
  • Confidence with basic computer programs (think: Microsoft Office and email).
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new things.
  • Professional English communication skills; Arabic is a bonus but not required.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior experience in a front desk, hospitality or customer-facing role.
  • Familiarity with office gadgets — copiers, phone systems, you name it.
  • Local knowledge of Dubai for helping visitors or handling errands.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • A welcoming, supportive team where everyone knows your name (and your favorite lunchtime spot).
  • Well-located office at Light House, Jumeira — with great transport links and an inspiring setting.
  • Regular opportunities for professional development and feedback.
  • Paid time off, medical coverage, and performance-based growth opportunities.
  • Occasional treats, birthday celebrations, and a culture of recognition.
  • Commitment to work-life balance — your well-being matters here.

Here, you’re not just another face at the front desk. You’re a valued part of the team, with plenty of space to make the role your own and grow your career from day one.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you share an example of how you've managed a busy front desk or juggled multiple tasks while keeping a welcoming attitude with visitors?
  • How would you handle a situation where several visitors arrive at once, the phone is ringing, and a colleague needs help with a last-minute request?
  • Which Microsoft Office tools are you most comfortable using, and how have you applied them to keep records or support admin tasks?
  • Describe your approach to keeping the reception area organized and presentable throughout a hectic workday.
  • If you had to troubleshoot a malfunctioning office gadget (like a printer or phone), what steps would you take before asking for help?
  • Have you ever had to handle a difficult or dissatisfied visitor? How did you resolve the situation while maintaining professionalism?
  • Imagine a new visitor asks you for directions or recommendations in Dubai—how would you assist them if you don’t know the answer right away?
  • Tell us about a time when you pitched in on an ad-hoc project or event. What part did you play, and what did you learn from it?
  • How do you stay organized when you’re responsible for multiple ongoing tasks, such as scheduling meeting rooms, greeting guests, and managing deliveries?
  • Can you give an example of a time you helped improve a process or made someone else’s workday smoother—however small the act?
  • What motivates you to deliver excellent service, even when you're having a busy or challenging day?
  • Our team places value on positive energy and collaboration—how do you encourage a warm, supportive atmosphere in your daily work?
  • How do you handle feedback, and can you describe a moment when a suggestion helped you develop professionally?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a Reception Assistant position in Dubai, you should expect a salary of at least 3,500–5,000 AED per month, depending on your prior experience and language skills. Similar roles in reputable offices or hospitality-driven environments on Al Wasl Road tend to fall within this range, often with growth opportunities and benefits included. If you bring prior front desk experience or strong multitasking abilities, aiming for the higher end of this range is reasonable.
