About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Be the First Smile They See
There's a certain kind of person who can walk into a chaotic morning — phones ringing, three guests waiting, a delivery guy at the door — and somehow make it all feel calm and under control. If that sounds like you, we've got a front desk with your name on it. We're hiring Receptionists, Front Desk Executives, Front Office Assistants, and Guest Service Assistants across some of Dubai's busiest districts, from the creek-side streets of Deira to the glass towers of Business Bay. It's a role where the small stuff matters — a warm greeting, a remembered name, a problem quietly solved before anyone notices — and where the right attitude is worth more than a fancy CV.
Who You'll Be Joining
We're a recruitment team that places front-of-house talent with hotels, clinics, corporate offices, and serviced residences across the city. What that means for you is choice: we'll match you with a workplace that actually fits your personality, not just the first vacancy that comes along. We've built our reputation on treating candidates like people rather than paperwork, and plenty of the staff we've placed over the years are still with the same employer today — which tells you we tend to get the match right.
What You'll Be Doing
- Greet visitors, guests, and clients as they arrive — and make sure they never stand around wondering where to go
- Handle incoming calls, take messages, and route enquiries to the right person without dropping the ball
- Manage bookings, appointments, and check-ins, keeping the front desk running smoothly even when it gets busy
- Keep the reception area tidy, stocked, and presentable — first impressions are literally your department
- Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and other teams so requests don't get lost between departments
- Handle basic admin: filing, emails, visitor logs, and the occasional bit of data entry
- Listen to complaints or special requests and either resolve them or escalate them quickly and politely
What You'll Bring
Must-Haves
- Good spoken and written English — clear enough to handle calls and greet guests confidently
- Solid communication skills and a genuinely friendly manner
- Basic computer skills (email, Word, and simple booking or spreadsheet systems)
- A professional, well-groomed appearance and a can-do attitude
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, depending on the employer
Nice-to-Haves
- Previous front desk, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience
- A second language — Arabic, Hindi, Russian, or Mandarin are all a plus
- Familiarity with hotel or clinic booking software
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — plenty of great receptionists started with zero experience and learned on the job.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Salary between AED 2,500 and 4,500, depending on the role and your experience
- Free employment visa — we sort the paperwork so you don't have to
- Accommodation provided, so you're not hunting for a flat on day one
- Transportation included to and from work
- Medical insurance covered for your peace of mind
- Placement across Deira, Bur Dubai, Business Bay, Barsha, or Dubai Marina — tell us where you'd rather be based
- Real chances to grow into supervisory or front office management roles if you're keen
Front desk work is often the first thing people see of a company — and honestly, it's the role that holds the whole place together. If you're reliable, warm, and quick on your feet, you'll fit right in.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through how you'd handle a morning where the phone won't stop ringing, a guest is waiting to check in, and a courier needs a signature — all at the same time. What do you tackle first and why?
- A visitor arrives without an appointment and insists on seeing someone who's in a meeting. How would you handle that without making them feel brushed off?
- What booking or front desk software have you used before — Opera, a clinic system, or something else? How quickly did you pick it up?
- How do you keep track of messages and requests so nothing slips through the cracks during a busy shift?
- A guest or client is upset about something that isn't really your fault — a delayed appointment, a mix-up with their booking. How do you usually calm that situation down?
- What does "keeping the reception area presentable" actually mean to you on a day-to-day basis? What would you check before your shift starts?
- Tell me about a time you had to juggle several tasks at once in a previous job. How did you decide what to do first?
- Can you describe a moment when you turned an unhappy customer into a satisfied one? What did you actually say or do?
- This role involves shift work, including weekends. How do you feel about that, and how do you manage your energy across a long week?
- Have you ever had to work closely with another department — housekeeping, security, maintenance — to get something sorted for a guest? What was that like?
- You'll be the first face people see when they walk in. What kind of impression do you try to give, and how do you make sure it's consistent even on a rough day?
- Do you speak any languages besides English? Tell me about a time that came in handy at work.
- Why does front desk work appeal to you specifically, rather than a back-office or purely admin role?
