About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it takes to ensure a thriving construction project in Dubai continues smoothly — and safely? As a Safety Officer with our team, you’ll be the pulse behind every secure workday, watching over our sites and the people who bring them to life. In a sector as fast-paced as Dubai’s construction scene, your vigilance and know-how could make all the difference. If you’re ready to put your expertise to the test on real projects in Business Bay, this could be your next big move.

About the Company

Our company doesn’t just build — we shape the city’s skyline and pride ourselves on doing it the right way. While we’ve grown rapidly as a contracting leader in Business Bay, we’ve stayed true to our roots: hard work, mutual respect, and a real commitment to everyone’s well-being on site. Fridays often mean team lunches, safety shoutouts, or even a bit of off-key birthday singing in the break room. Our workforce is as diverse as our project list, and you’ll find a management team that values every voice — including yours.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Walking the site each day, keeping a close eye on compliance with HSE standards and company protocols
  • Training new and existing staff on safety procedures — and making sure it really sticks (not just on paper!)
  • Leading toolbox talks, safety drills, and investigations when something’s not quite right
  • Reviewing and updating risk assessments, JSA, and method statements as projects evolve
  • Flagging potential hazards early, then working with supervisors to find real-world solutions
  • Keeping meticulous records of incidents, inspections, and maintenance checks
  • Staying up-to-date with local UAE health and safety regulations
  • Acting as the friendly face of safety — approachable, fair, and always ready to lend advice

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH, OSHA, or a similar qualification)
  • At least 3 years’ hands-on HSE experience with UAE construction sites
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE HSE rules, best practices, and on-site safety challenges
  • Strong communication skills — you can explain the “why” behind every rule
  • A proactive attitude and the confidence to intervene when you see a risk
  • Ready to join immediately

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with digital HSE reporting tools
  • Multilingual — especially in languages commonly spoken onsite
  • Passion for continuous improvement and a knack for motivating teams

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary package and prompt, secure payments
  • Supportive management who truly value safety — and your input
  • Multi-cultural, friendly team that works hard and celebrates wins together
  • Career development: regular training opportunities and a path to more responsibility
  • Modern, centrally located offices in Business Bay
  • All necessary PPE provided, with a real focus on health and well-being
  • Open-door policy — if you have ideas to make our sites safer, you’ll find an eager audience

From lively project kick-offs to quiet coffee breaks overlooking the city, you’ll find this is a place where your efforts matter and your safety-first mindset is respected. If you’re ready to make a real impact every day, we can’t wait to meet you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you describe a time when you identified a potential hazard on a construction site and how you addressed it with the project team?
  • How do you ensure that safety procedures and trainings are not only understood but actually followed by workers from diverse backgrounds?
  • What steps would you take to keep daily site inspections both thorough and efficient in a fast-paced construction environment like Business Bay?
  • Explain how you stay up-to-date with the latest UAE HSE regulations and how you incorporate any changes into daily site operations.
  • When leading a toolbox talk, how do you engage workers and make the session relevant to current site activities and risks?
  • What experience do you have with digital HSE reporting or documentation, and how has technology helped you manage safety processes?
  • Share an example of how you handled a situation where a supervisor or worker was resistant to your safety recommendations.
  • Imagine a new worker joins mid-project and seems unfamiliar with your company’s HSE protocols. How would you bring them up to speed and monitor their compliance?
  • What motivates you to be proactive about safety, even when things on site are running smoothly and deadlines are tight?
  • Our team is multicultural and often communicates in several languages. How do you approach bridging language barriers when conveying key safety messages?
  • Tell us about a particularly challenging incident investigation you led. What was your approach and what lessons did you help the team learn?
  • How do you build trust and approachability as the “friendly face of safety” while still maintaining authority on site?
  • What does a supportive safety culture mean to you, and how have you contributed to building such a culture in your previous roles?
  • Fridays often see our team come together for meals and celebrations. How do you see social team moments fitting into a high-performing, safety-conscious work environment?
