About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever find yourself instinctively spotting the nearest fire extinguisher or reminding your colleagues to strap on their helmets? If so, you might be just the Safety Officer we’re looking for. This isn’t just another checklist role—our dynamic contracting company in Dubai needs someone with construction smarts and a true passion for keeping people, projects, and progress safe. In a region where standards and expectations are sky-high, your expertise could set a new benchmark for site safety.
About the Company
We’re a vibrant, well-established contracting firm proudly shaping Dubai’s skyline. Our team thrives on collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to quality—whether it’s Monday morning toolbox talks or those spontaneous post-shift chai gatherings in the break room. As Dubai continues its rapid growth, we’re scaling up too, and we believe a strong safety culture is the bedrock for our next chapter. You’ll be joining a close-knit team that genuinely looks out for one another (and yes, healthy banter over who has the best hard hat décor is absolutely encouraged).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out daily site safety inspections—spotting hazards before they become incidents
- Developing, updating, and communicating clear safety policies (your common sense matters as much as the rulebook)
- Conducting toolbox talks and safety training so everyone’s genuinely in the know, not just nodding along
- Investigating any incidents or near-misses with a no-blame, problem-solving attitude
- Liaising with site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure everyone’s on the same page about risks and controls
- Keeping thorough records, from inspection reports to permit-to-work systems
- Staying up to date on UAE safety regulations—and ensuring our worksites always measure up
- Suggesting and implementing innovative ideas to foster an even safer, friendlier workplace
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- At least 3 years’ hands-on experience with safety in the UAE construction world
- Certification in Health & Safety (NEBOSH, OSHA, or a recognized equivalent)
- Thorough knowledge of local and international safety standards and legislation
- Strong communication skills—whether you’re briefing a team or documenting findings
- Proven ability to implement safety procedures, not just recommend them
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with large-scale or multi-site projects
- Fluency in more than one language (Arabic, Urdu, or Hindi a bonus)
- A knack for teaching or presenting (maybe you’ve run fun training sessions before?)
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary and benefits tailored to the Dubai market
- Inclusive, supportive team that takes safety—and each other—seriously
- Real opportunities for growth as we scale our projects and capabilities
- Regular training to keep your skills sharp and your qualifications current
- Social team culture: think after-work meetups and celebrations of project wins
- Respect for work-life balance, even on busy sites
We believe safety is everyone’s job—but you’ll make it your calling. If you’re ready to help us build a safer tomorrow in Dubai, let’s talk.
