About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Retail Sales Associate – Business Bay, Dubai
Ever walked into a store and been greeted by someone who genuinely seemed glad you were there? That's the kind of experience we're building — and we need one more person to help us deliver it. We're looking for a Sales Boy/Girl to join our team in the heart of Business Bay, where you'll be the face customers remember long after they've left the shop. If you enjoy talking to people, matching them with the right product, and closing a sale with a smile, this could be your next move.
About Us
We're a growing retail business based in Business Bay, Dubai, and we've built our reputation on two things: quality products and the people who sell them. Walk into our store on any given day and you'll hear a mix of languages, some friendly banter between staff, and the occasional happy customer coming back just to say hello. We're small enough that everyone knows each other's names, but busy enough that there's always something happening on the floor.
We believe good salespeople aren't born — they're supported. That's why we invest in training, offer real earning potential through commission, and make sure our team has what they need to succeed. If you bring the energy, we'll bring the rest.
What You'll Be Doing
- Welcome customers as they walk in and help them find exactly what they're looking for — even when they're not sure themselves
- Showcase products, explain features and benefits, and guide shoppers toward the right choice for their needs
- Handle day-to-day sales transactions accurately, whether it's cash, card, or digital payment
- Keep the store looking sharp — tidy displays, well-stocked shelves, and a space customers enjoy browsing
- Build relationships with regulars so they come back and ask for you by name
- Share feedback with the team on what customers are asking for, what's selling, and what isn't
What You'll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Good communication skills in English — Arabic, Hindi, or other languages are a big plus given our diverse customer base
- A positive, can-do attitude and the kind of energy that makes a shop feel welcoming
- Comfort working in a fast-paced retail environment — weekends and holidays are our busiest times
- Basic numeracy and the ability to handle cash and card transactions responsibly
Nice-to-Haves:
- Previous retail or customer-facing experience (though we're happy to train the right person)
- Familiarity with Business Bay or the surrounding Dubai area
- Any additional language skills that help you connect with our customers
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you. Attitude and willingness to learn often matter more than a perfect CV.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Salary of AED 2,800 – 3,200 per month, plus commission on sales — your effort directly boosts your earnings
- Company-provided visa, so you can focus on the job without the paperwork headache
- Transportation support to get you to and from work
- Medical insurance because your health matters
- Annual leave so you can actually recharge
- A supportive team that celebrates wins together — big sales, small victories, and everything in between
We're not promising a corporate ladder with a fancy title. What we are offering is a steady role with real earning potential, a team that has your back, and the chance to grow with a business that's going places. If that sounds like your kind of gig, we'd love to meet you.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through how you'd approach a customer who's browsing but hasn't asked for help yet — how do you open the conversation without coming on too strong?
- A customer is deciding between two similar products and keeps going back and forth. How do you help them make a confident choice without pushing them toward the more expensive option just for the sale?
- Tell me about a time you had to juggle multiple customers at once — maybe a line forming at the till while someone else needed product advice. How did you handle it?
- Since weekends and holidays are our busiest times here, how do you personally keep your energy and patience up during a long, hectic shift?
- We get shoppers from all over the world in Business Bay. Can you give me an example of how you've adapted your communication style for someone who didn't share your first language or background?
- How comfortable are you handling cash, card, and digital payments accurately under pressure? Have you ever caught a mistake in a transaction — yours or someone else's — and what did you do?
- Imagine a regular customer comes in and asks for you by name, but you're mid-sale with someone else. What's your move?
- Describe a time a customer was unhappy or frustrated — not necessarily with you. How did you turn that interaction around, or what did you learn from it?
- What draws you to retail specifically, and why does a smaller, close-knit store appeal to you more than a big chain?
- Our team leans on each other a lot — sharing feedback on what's selling, covering the floor when someone's busy. How do you feel about giving and receiving that kind of honest, day-to-day feedback?
- If a product you personally didn't love was a customer's best match, would you still sell it enthusiastically? Walk me through your thinking.
- Tell me about a moment when you helped someone find something they didn't even know they wanted. What did that feel like,
