About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Sales Representative — Media & Entertainment App (Dubai)

Ever wondered what it feels like to sell something people actually get excited about? We're building a subscription app in the media and entertainment space with a concept you won't find anywhere else in the global market right now — and we need five sharp, driven women to help us take it to the region. This isn't a "read from a script and hope for the best" kind of sales role. It's for someone who enjoys the chase, believes in what she's selling, and wants to grow with a company that's still writing its own story. If that sounds like you, keep reading.

About the Company

We're a young, fast-moving team based in Dubai, operating out of our office at NRL Building, 3rd floor, Office 301. We're in that exciting stage where every deal matters, every idea gets heard, and the people who join now will shape what this company looks like a year from today. The product itself is a subscription-based app in media and entertainment — think of it as something the market hasn't quite seen before, which makes our conversations with customers genuinely fun instead of repetitive.

We keep things lean, direct, and human. No endless layers of approval, no corporate theatre. If you bring energy and results, you'll feel it here — and so will your career.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own the full sales cycle for our subscription app, from first contact to closing the deal — and yes, you'll be talking to real people, not just sending emails into the void.
  • Build genuine relationships with potential subscribers by understanding what they actually want from media and entertainment, then showing them how our app delivers it.
  • Hit (and hopefully beat) your monthly subscription targets — we set them together, so they're ambitious but fair.
  • Keep a clean, organized pipeline so nothing slips through the cracks and follow-ups actually happen on time.
  • Share what you're hearing from customers with the rest of the team — your feedback directly influences how we position and improve the product.
  • Represent the brand at events, pop-ups, and wherever our next customer might be found.

What You'll Bring

Must-haves:

  • Previous sales experience — subscriptions, retail, telecom, media, or anything where you had to convince someone to say yes.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a strong plus but not a dealbreaker.
  • A natural ability to connect with people quickly and keep a conversation going.
  • Self-motivation. We're a small team, so nobody's going to stand over your shoulder — you'll manage your own day and your own numbers.
  • Comfort working from our Dubai office (NRL Building, 3rd floor, Office 301).

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience selling app subscriptions or digital products.
  • A genuine interest in media, entertainment, or content culture.
  • Existing familiarity with the Dubai market and its diverse customer base.

Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — sometimes the right person doesn't look exactly like the job description.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Competitive base salary plus commission — your effort directly translates into your earnings, no caps hiding in the fine print.
  • A real product to sell. Not another me-too app. The concept genuinely stands apart from what's out there globally, which makes your pitch easier and more interesting.
  • Room to grow. As one of our first sales hires, you'll have a real shot at leading a team or shaping strategy down the line.
  • A tight-knit, supportive team that celebrates wins together — big or small.
  • Central Dubai location at NRL Building, easy to reach and surrounded by the energy of the city.

We're hiring five people for this role, which means you'll be joining a cohort, not sitting alone in a corner. If you're ready to sell something worth talking about and grow with a company that's just getting started, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through how you'd approach selling a subscription app to someone who's never heard of it — from that first conversation to getting them to sign up.
  • What does your current sales process look like when you're managing your own pipeline? How do you keep track of follow-ups and make sure nothing falls through?
  • Tell me about a time you lost a sale you really thought you had. What happened, and what did you take away from it?
  • This role involves selling to Dubai's incredibly diverse customer base. How would you adapt your pitch for, say, a young professional versus a family?
  • How do you handle a customer who's interested but keeps saying "let me think about it"? What's your move?
  • What experience do you have selling digital products or app subscriptions specifically? How does that differ from selling something physical?
  • Describe a moment when a customer gave you feedback that changed how you pitched a product going forward.
  • We're a small team with no one looking over your shoulder. How do you keep yourself motivated and on track during a slow week?
  • What draws you to media and entertainment as an industry? Do you actually consume a lot of content yourself?
  • If you joined and realized our sales messaging wasn't landing with customers, how would you bring that up to the team?
  • Tell me about a time you had to convince someone to say yes when they started off completely uninterested.
  • How comfortable are you representing a brand at events and pop-ups, not just over the phone or email?
  • What does a great day at work look like for you — and what does a frustrating one look like?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a sales role like this in Dubai’s media and entertainment space, you should expect a base salary of around 5,000–8,000 AED per month, with commission typically adding another 2,000–5,000 AED or more depending on how well you hit your targets. Similar subscription and digital product sales roles in the UAE usually sit in that range, and since this is a startup hiring early sales staff, there’s often room to negotiate a higher base if you bring strong experience or Arabic language skills. Don’t be shy about asking about the commission structure upfront, because in roles like this, your total earnings can end up well above the base if the product sells well.
