About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Retail Sales Opportunities at Deira City Centre — Multiple Roles Available

Retail in Dubai moves fast. One minute the mall is quiet, the next you've got a queue at the till and a customer asking for a size that's buried somewhere in the stockroom. If that kind of pace energizes you rather than exhausts you, we'd like to talk. We're hiring across five roles in our Deira City Centre outlet — from Sales Supervisor to Sales-cum-Cashier — and we're looking for people who genuinely enjoy the floor, the customers, and the small wins that come with a well-run store. Whether you're a seasoned retail professional or you've just landed in the UAE and are looking for your first break, there's a place for you here.

About Us

We're a growing retail operation with a presence in one of Dubai's busiest shopping destinations. Deira City Centre isn't just a mall — it's a crossroads where tourists, long-term residents, and families all pass through in a single afternoon. Our team reflects that mix: many nationalities, many languages, and a shared understanding that good retail is really just good hospitality with a price tag attached.

We're at that stage where the systems are solid but the team is still shaping its identity — which means new hires genuinely get to influence how things run. If you've got ideas about how to lay out a display or handle a tricky exchange, we're listening. Friday evenings are our busiest stretch, and there's a certain camaraderie that builds when you've survived one together.

What You'll Be Doing

The exact shape of your day depends on which role you step into, but here's the general territory:

  • Sales Supervisor: Lead the floor during your shift — opening and closing the outlet, managing breaks, handling escalated customer issues, and keeping the team motivated when the mall gets chaotic.
  • Merchandiser: Own the visual story of the store. Arrange displays that actually sell, rotate stock for seasonal pushes, and make sure promotions are visible the moment a customer walks in.
  • Sales Promoter: Be the face of specific product lines — engage shoppers, explain features without sounding like a script, and turn browsing into buying.
  • Sales Assistant: Help customers find what they need, keep shelves stocked and presentable, and support the team wherever the rush takes you.
  • Sales-cum-Cashier: Split your time between the floor and the till — processing payments accurately, handling returns, and keeping the checkout area running smoothly during peak hours.

Across all roles, you'll be working directly with customers from every corner of the world. Patience and a genuine smile go further here than any sales script.

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced mall environment, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Basic communication skills in English — additional languages (Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Russian, Mandarin) are a real asset on this floor
  • A valid visa or the ability to work in the UAE (we sponsor, but you need to be inside the country to apply)
  • Reliability. If you say you'll be there at 9 AM, be there at 9 AM.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior retail or customer service experience — but honestly, we've seen brilliant salespeople come from hospitality, call centres, and completely unrelated fields
  • Cash-handling experience for the cashier role
  • A knack for visual presentation (merchandisers, we're looking at you)

Freshers are absolutely welcome. Some of our best team members started with zero retail background and learned everything on the job. Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Salary range of AED 2,500 to AED 7,000 depending on role and experience — with commission on top
  • Visa sponsorship provided as per UAE labour law
  • Accommodation and transport covered, so you're not burning half your paycheck on rent and taxis
  • Medical insurance included
  • Commission structure that rewards effort — the harder you work the floor, the better your monthly take-home
  • All nationalities welcome — our team already speaks a dozen languages and we like it that way
  • Growth potential — we promote from within, and several of our supervisors started as sales assistants

Retail isn't always glamorous. There are long shifts, difficult customers, and days when the AC feels like it's losing the battle. But there's also something satisfying about a well-merchandised display, a customer who leaves happy, and a team that has your back when the mall hits peak hour.

If that sounds like your kind of environment, send us your CV. We're reviewing applications now and moving quickly.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through how you'd handle a shift where the store is short-staffed, there's a queue at the till, and a customer is demanding to speak to a manager about a return.
  • A customer insists a discounted item should be sold at the original price because the promotion sign wasn't clear. How do you resolve it without losing the sale or the customer?
  • Tell me about a time you had to learn something on the job quickly — what was the situation, and how did you get up to speed?
  • For the cashier role: how would you handle a situation where your till comes up short at the end of your shift?
  • Describe how you'd approach merchandising a new seasonal collection in a store where floor space is tight and footfall is high.
  • Give me an example of a time you turned a browsing customer into a buyer. What did you say or do?
  • How do you stay calm and professional when a customer is rude or unreasonable — especially when there's a line of people watching?
  • Tell me about a time you disagreed with how a supervisor handled something on the floor. What did you do?
  • What languages do you speak, and how have you used them to help customers or teammates in a previous role?
  • Friday evenings here are relentless. How do you personally recharge so you're ready for the next shift?
  • Why retail, and why now? What made you apply for this role specifically?
  • If a teammate isn't pulling their weight during a busy stretch, how would you handle it — as a peer, and if you were supervising?
  • What does good customer service look like to you, beyond just being polite?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

This salary range reflects typical compensation for retail roles in Dubai, where packages commonly vary based on the specific position and experience level. With accommodation, transport, and medical insurance covered — plus commission on top — the overall value of the offer extends well beyond the base figure. For freshers and experienced retail professionals alike, this is a competitive starting point with real potential to grow, especially given the company's commitment to promoting from within.
