About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Ready to step up and make your mark as a Shift Supervisor in the heart of Dubai’s thriving construction industry? At our Jebel Ali site, you’ll be the linchpin that keeps projects humming: steering daily operations, guiding your crew, and ensuring every shift ends with satisfied clients and a proud, motivated team. If you enjoy juggling people, priorities, and the pulse of a worksite, this could be your next big move.

About the Company

We’re more than just hard hats and high-rises—in our close-knit team, every role matters, and every day brings something new. From ambitious groundbreakings to intricate finishes, we take pride in delivering projects that stand out across the UAE skyline. Our culture? Think results-driven, but human; rigorous, yet supportive. Friday afternoons sometimes turn into impromptu BBQs, and we celebrate every milestone—no matter the size. Join us if you want to grow with a company where leadership isn’t just a title, but an attitude we nurture at every level.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing daily site operations to ensure work progresses smoothly (and safely!)
  • Coordinating shifts, assigning tasks, and keeping everyone on track—even when the unexpected crops up
  • Providing on-the-spot coaching and mentorship to team members, building trust and skillsets
  • Checking in with clients and upper management to report on progress, flag issues, and celebrate wins
  • Monitoring attendance, productivity, and quality standards—nothing slips through the cracks on your watch
  • Jumping in to solve minor disputes or obstacles, keeping morale high and downtime low
  • Maintaining strict adherence to safety policies (we’re big on the details that keep everyone safe)
  • Pitching in with hands-on tasks when needed: we all roll up our sleeves here!

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within construction—think 2+ years managing crews, big or small
  • Strong leadership chops: you’re great at motivating people and handling tough conversations with tact
  • Confident communication in English (other languages an asset, especially Arabic or Hindi)
  • Solid organizational and time management skills—multitasking doesn’t faze you
  • Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and best practices
  • Ability to adapt quickly and keep calm under pressure

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Technical certification or training in construction management
  • Experience working on large-scale projects in the UAE or GCC region
  • Proficiency with site management software or scheduling tools

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary with opportunities for overtime pay
  • Ongoing professional development and support for certifications
  • Supportive, approachable management who actually know your name
  • Team events, casual get-togethers, and a “no egos” policy
  • Built-in career progression for those who show initiative
  • Modern, well-equipped worksite in one of Dubai’s most dynamic industrial zones
  • Staff accommodation and transportation available for select shifts

Here, your work is visible and valued—and the atmosphere balances hard work with camaraderie. If you’re looking for a place to lead, grow, and make a real impact, this is it.

  • How do you approach mentoring or coaching team members who are new or struggling with certain tasks?
  • Describe your experience with construction management tools or scheduling software. What platforms have you used, and how have they helped you manage shifts or resources?
  • In your previous roles, how have you tracked productivity and quality standards across shifts? Are there any methods or tools you prefer?
  • If a disagreement or conflict arises between team members during a high-pressure period, what steps would you take to resolve it without impacting morale or progress?
  • Have you ever had to report a delay or major issue to both clients and upper management? How did you communicate the problem and your plan to address it?
  • How do you keep yourself organized when juggling multiple priorities, such as shift scheduling, progress updates, and on-site troubleshooting?
  • Describe a time you went above and beyond to assist your team outside of your typical supervisory responsibilities.
  • What motivates you about working on large-scale construction projects, and how do you keep your team motivated during challenging shifts?
  • How do you personally contribute to building a positive, supportive work environment—even after a tough week on site?

  • Describe how you adapt your management style to fit a diverse team, especially in a multicultural setting like the UAE.

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a Shift Supervisor position in Dubai’s construction sector with 2+ years of supervisory experience, you should expect a monthly salary in the range of 6,000–9,000 AED, depending on your background and the scale of projects you’ve handled. Similar roles often offer additional overtime or allowances, and employers in this sector may provide staff accommodation and transportation, which can further enhance your total compensation package. Aim for the higher end of this range if you bring GCC experience, technical certifications, or advanced site management skills.
