About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it takes to turn sunlight into reliable, real-world power? As a Solar Engineer with us, you'll get to shape the future of renewable energy, taking projects from a simple sketch all the way through to a fully operational solar installation. If you love solving complex technical puzzles and want to see your designs make a genuine impact in people’s lives—and on the planet—this is a unique opportunity to do just that. With the solar industry booming in the region, your expertise will be front and center, driving innovation where it matters most.

About the Company

We’re a passionate team dedicated to accelerating clean energy across Mohammed Bin and beyond. What makes us tick? Collaboration, learning, and a shared mission: making sustainable power accessible for everyone. You’ll find engineers debating the latest tech over morning coffee, and Friday knowledge-sharing sessions are never skipped. We’re not a giant corporate machine—everyone has a voice here, and every win feels personal. Growth is part of our DNA, and we celebrate the milestones, big and small, together.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the end-to-end design of solar PV systems, from site surveys to final execution
  • Creating detailed electrical designs, single-line diagrams, and system layouts tailored to each unique project
  • Engineering and integrating battery storage and off-grid solutions to maximize project performance
  • Collaborating closely with team members and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery—no siloed work here!
  • Overseeing project execution on-site, troubleshooting installations, and ensuring quality standards are met every step of the way
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry best practices and sharing your learnings in our regular team sessions
  • Preparing and reviewing technical documentation, reports, and proposals for clients and stakeholders
  • Offering technical input during client consultations and helping to set realistic expectations

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in the solar industry (PV design, electrical design, battery storage, and off-grid systems)
  • Background in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a closely related field
  • Advanced skills in solar PV system design software (such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Strong command of electrical design principles and standards within the solar sector
  • Currently based in Mohammed Bin and ready for site travel when needed

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with hybrid solar systems integration
  • Familiarity with local regulations and permitting processes
  • Excellent communication skills—you can explain tech to non-techies
  • Past experience with project management or leading small teams

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses—they really do add up!
  • Flexible work arrangements: office, site—and optional remote days for focused design work
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and sponsored certifications in renewable energy
  • Supportive, hands-on team with a flat hierarchy and open communication culture
  • Modern tools and tech—plus the freedom to recommend (and try out) new solutions
  • Regular team outings, company breakfasts, and yes, those infamous Friday knowledge shares

Bring your expertise and your curiosity. Here, you won’t be just another engineer—you’ll be part of a fast-growing crew making real change, one project at a time.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your process for designing a solar PV system, starting from an initial site survey to final system execution?
  • How have you used AutoCAD, PVsyst, or similar design tools in past projects? What features or workflows do you find most useful?
  • Describe a technical challenge you faced when integrating battery storage or an off-grid solution into a solar installation. How did you resolve it?
  • What are the key electrical design principles and standards you always prioritize when developing solar energy systems?
  • Have you ever managed a project where you had to coordinate with multiple contractors or stakeholders? How did you ensure smooth collaboration and quality delivery?
  • How do you stay up-to-date with new technologies or best practices in the solar industry, and how have you shared this knowledge with your team?
  • Tell us about a time when you had to explain a complex technical concept—like system capacity or energy yield—to a client who wasn’t technically savvy. How did you approach it?
  • Imagine you discover a technical issue on-site during installation that could delay project delivery. How would you handle this situation with both your team and the client?
  • Have you worked with local regulations and permitting in Mohammed Bin or similar regions? What steps do you take to ensure compliance in your designs?
  • Can you provide an example where you led or mentored a small team through a technical or project hurdle?
  • What do you enjoy most about working in a collaborative, flat-hierarchy environment, and how do you contribute to building that kind of team culture?
  • How do you balance creative design ideas with the practical constraints of budgets, site conditions, and client requirements?
  • Continuous learning is a core value here—can you share how you’ve actively developed your skills or helped others grow in previous roles?
  • Tell us about a project “win” that felt especially meaningful to you. What made it stand out?
