Salary: Negotiable

About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever pictured yourself building the backbone of major oilfield projects or turning steel plates into life-sized engineering realities? As a Structural Fabricator and Welder (Arc & MIG), you’ll do more than just fuse metal—you’ll help shape heavy-duty structures that are the lifeblood of industries across Mussafah’s vital oilfield and transport hub. If you’re driven by the challenge of large-scale fabrication, thriving in a hands-on environment where no two days are the same, this opportunity might just be your perfect fit.

About the Company

Nestled in the industrial heart of Mussafah, our workshop buzzes with the energy of skilled craftsmen, tight-knit teams, and the hum of welding machines shaping projects that end up traversing highways or serving remote oilfields. We value hard-earned experience, practical know-how, and the camaraderie that comes from working on ambitious builds—think everything from massive fuel tanks to customized container conversions. Our mornings start with strong tea and quick toolbox briefings, and our pride comes from delivering solutions that withstand the test of time (and the elements). Around here, everyone’s opinion counts when it comes to getting the job done right.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Reading, interpreting, and working straight from structural steel blueprints or rough sketches—whether it’s a specialized skid or a towering silo.
  • Cutting, shaping, and assembling heavy-gauge metals for oilfield platforms, fuel storage tanks, silos, container mods, low bed trailers, and more.
  • Executing high-quality, safe welding operations (Arc & MIG) on a wide range of steel and metal projects, from tipper truck bodies to tool baskets and racks.
  • Collaborating closely with fellow fabricators and site supervisors to tackle tricky builds—sometimes innovating solutions on the fly.
  • Inspecting finished work for strength, accuracy, and adherence to demanding safety and oilfield specs—no shortcuts, no compromises.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting workshop equipment, keeping everything in top shape for the next challenge.
  • Adjusting to custom requests—be it a diesel tanker for a pickup or a reimagined cargo body—taking pride in work that meets individual client needs.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in steel and metal fabrication, preferably on heavy structures, oilfield platforms, and custom builds.
  • Demonstrated skill in both Arc and MIG welding techniques, with a portfolio or references to back it up.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, measure accurately, and visualize end products from schematics.
  • Comfortable working with large-scale components, operating workshop machinery, and handling tools safely.
  • Strong team player attitude—good communication with others on the floor is a must.
  • Nice-to-haves: Previous work on bitumen tanks, container modification, or low bed trailer construction. Valid certifications for welding or heavy fabrication are always appreciated.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive, timely pay—no surprises, just appreciation for excellence and hard graft.
  • Overtime opportunities for those who want them, with clear recognition for reliability and standout performance.
  • Workshop camaraderie: we tackle challenges as a team and celebrate delivering on tough deadlines together.
  • Real pride in projects you can literally drive past, climb onto, or see rolled out for major clients across the UAE.
  • Modern, well-kept workshop in Mussafah, with all the gear you need to do your best work (and a break room that never runs out of coffee).
  • Support for developing new fabrication skills or specializations—learn on the job with pros who’ve done it all.

Here, your work isn’t behind the scenes—it’s on the front lines of industry. If you like to see tangible results from a hard day’s work, you’ll feel right at home.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk me through your experience with Arc and MIG welding on large-scale steel structures? What kinds of projects have you tackled before?
  • When handed a complex set of blueprints or rough sketches, what’s your process for translating those into precise, high-quality fabrication work?
  • Tell us about a time you had to problem-solve or innovate on the workshop floor to overcome an unexpected fabrication challenge.
  • What safety practices do you consider non-negotiable when working with heavy metals, welding equipment, and large fabrication pieces?
  • How do you ensure your finished products meet demanding oilfield or transport industry specifications? Can you share specific examples?
  • Which workshop machines and tools do you consider essential for a job like this, and how confident are you in maintaining or troubleshooting them yourself?
  • Have you been involved in custom builds, such as container modifications or specialized tanker construction? If so, describe one particularly unique project.
  • In a situation where a teammate is struggling with a fabrication task, how would you approach helping them without slowing down overall production?
  • Share a time when you had to adapt quickly to a last-minute client request or spec change. How did you manage the shift while keeping quality and timelines intact?
  • How do you see effective communication impacting the outcome of complex fabrication projects? Any examples from your recent roles?
  • Our workshop prides itself on a culture where everyone’s input counts, especially under tight deadlines. How do you contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment?
  • The job requires hands-on problem solving and learning new fabrication skills on the fly. Can you discuss a skill or technique you picked up from a coworker or mentor?
  • What motivates you most about seeing the projects you build in use—on highways, oilfields, or serving everyday industry needs?
  • Early toolbox briefings and a shared sense of pride are part of our daily routine. Why do you think those small rituals matter in a busy workshop?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a Structural Fabricator and Welder (Arc & MIG) with at least 5 years of hands-on experience, similar roles in Mussafah’s oilfield and heavy fabrication sector typically offer a monthly salary in the range of 3,500–5,500 AED, depending on your skills and specific experience with oilfield or large-scale custom builds. You should expect a salary at the upper end of this scale if you bring advanced certifications or specialized expertise with complex projects like fuel tanks and container conversions. Overtime pay and added benefits can further increase your total compensation in well-established workshops.
