About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it’s like to play a hands-on role in powering Abu Dhabi’s thriving energy sector? Here’s your chance. Whether your expertise lies in precision welding, rigorous inspection, or working on essential infrastructure, this opportunity with one of the region’s most respected oil & gas companies puts you at the heart of industry innovation. If you’re passionate about maintaining the highest safety and quality standards, and want to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Company

Our team is a close-knit group of engineers, inspectors, and specialists who take genuine pride in each other’s successes. We champion continuous improvement — not just in our operations, but in our people as well. You’ll see it in the way we celebrate achievements (both big and small), and how we encourage everyone to bring ideas to the table, no matter your title. The pace is brisk and the work is vital, but there’s a sense of mutual respect and camaraderie here that sets us apart in the oil & gas industry. If you’ve ever wanted to collaborate with experienced minds while having your efforts directly recognized, you’ll feel right at home.

What You’ll Be Doing

(We’re hiring for several roles — Welding Engineer, Welding Inspector, Painting Inspector, and Pipe Fitter (Welding). You’ll specialize, but may connect across teams as well!)

  • Lead or support welding operations, ensuring procedures and materials meet critical project specifications.
  • Conduct in-depth inspections for welding and painting processes (as applicable), documenting results and troubleshooting any deviations.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to guarantee that every inch of pipe, weld, or coating meets our stringent quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate in root-cause analyses or corrective actions when issues arise, sharing insights to improve future projects.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, certifications, and technologies — we love a team member who brings fresh knowledge and a proactive mindset.
  • Help build a workplace where adherence to procedures and a culture of safety are non-negotiable.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Relevant qualifications and certifications for your chosen discipline (Welding, Inspection, or Pipe Fitting).
  • Solid technical knowledge, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, codes, and standards.
  • Practical experience in the oil & gas sector — you should know your way around the field or fabrication shop.
  • Teamwork and clear communication skills; you won’t be working in a silo.
  • A sharp eye for detail and the confidence to speak up if something doesn’t look right.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Additional certifications (CSWIP, BGAS, NACE, ASNT, etc.)
  • Prior experience with fast-paced or large-scale oil & gas projects in the UAE or similar markets.
  • Familiarity with digital inspection tools or lean quality initiatives.

Not sure you tick every single box? If you’re eager to learn and committed to quality, we’d still love to see what you bring.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary with allowances tailored for the UAE market.
  • Rotational, on-site, and hybrid roles depending on the position — we try to balance operational needs with flexibility.
  • Professional development support: we encourage skill upgrades and fund relevant certifications.
  • A supportive, multi-cultural team who value safety, respect, and sharing knowledge.
  • Modern camp and site facilities for field roles; comfortable office environments for others.
  • Recognition for going above and beyond — your expertise is seen and valued.

In short: it’s a place where hard work is rewarded, learning is encouraged, and every project feels like a team victory. If you’re looking for that next step up in your oil & gas career, this is where real impact happens.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through how you would interpret an engineering drawing for a complex welding or pipe fitting task, ensuring all specifications are met?
  • Describe your experience working with industry codes and standards relevant to welding or inspection in oil & gas projects. Which ones have you used most frequently?
  • How do you typically conduct and document a welding (or painting) inspection? What steps do you take if you notice a non-conformance?
  • Tell us about a recent root-cause analysis or corrective action you participated in — what was the issue, and how did your input influence the outcome?
  • Have you worked with digital inspection tools or lean quality initiatives? If so, which ones, and how did they impact your workflow?
  • In your previous roles, how did you ensure that all team members adhered to strict safety and quality procedures on-site?
  • Describe a challenging project you worked on in a fast-paced oil & gas environment. How did you manage your responsibilities and support your team under pressure?
  • Give an example of a time you needed to raise a safety or quality concern. How did you communicate this, and what was the result?
  • The company encourages knowledge sharing and idea contributions from every team member. Can you share a time when you suggested an improvement that benefited the team or the project?
  • When multiple teams are collaborating on a project, how do you ensure clear communication and alignment on technical requirements?
  • How do you stay updated on industry best practices, certifications, and new technologies relevant to your discipline?
  • What motivates you to maintain the highest level of quality and safety in your work, even during demanding or repetitive shifts?
  • How do you see yourself contributing to the positive and respectful culture described by the team here?
  • Recognition and professional development are important in our environment. Can you tell us about an achievement you’re proud of and how you’d like to keep growing in your career?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

You should expect a salary of at least 7,000–15,000 AED per month for welding engineers, inspectors, or experienced pipe fitters in the UAE oil & gas sector, with specialized certifications (like CSWIP or NACE) and relevant site experience pushing offers toward the higher end of this range. Similar roles in Abu Dhabi’s leading energy companies often include additional allowances and benefits, especially for field-based or rotational assignments, so it’s reasonable to negotiate based on your expertise, certifications, and years of experience.
