About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever wondered how a smooth-running construction project stays on schedule and within budget? Hint: it all starts with the right materials at the right time. We're looking for a dedicated Procurement Officer (MEP – Electrical & Plumbing) who thrives in the organized chaos of job sites and supplier negotiations. If you love the challenge of finding high-quality materials and building strong vendor relationships, this could be your next big step.
About the Company
We’re a tight-knit construction specialist focused on what most folks take for granted—the power that lights the building, and the plumbing that keeps everything flowing. Our projects span commercial and residential spaces, each with its quirks and challenges. We believe in open communication, hands-on problem-solving, and the kind of teamwork where you actually look forward to Monday mornings. Quick wins get high-fives, and our Friday demo days (plus frequent coffee runs) keep everyone connected to the results of their work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers for a full range of MEP materials: think cables, switches, panels, conduits, pumps, pipes, all the way down to that last fitting or valve.
- Preparing, issuing, and tracking purchase orders—always with a careful eye on timelines and budgets.
- Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships, finding dependable partners who deliver quality on time.
- Evaluating supplier performance (price, quality, delivery), sometimes with a quick side chat, sometimes with a spreadsheet.
- Coordinating with project managers and engineers to forecast needs and troubleshoot shortages before they become problems.
- Keeping up-to-date records of procurement activity, contracts, and inventory status (yes, attention to detail matters).
- Supporting the team by resolving delivery issues or discrepancies, and occasionally “herding cats” when things get hectic.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves
- Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain roles, ideally within construction or MEP trades.
- Knowledge of electrical and plumbing materials, specs, and common brands used in the industry.
- Strong negotiation skills—can talk price and terms without losing sight of quality.
- Good organizational habits: you’re a natural at keeping documentation neat and suppliers on speed dial.
- Ability to juggle priorities and keep your cool when deadlines loom.
- Comfortable with basic business software (purchase order systems, Excel, and email).
Nice-to-Haves
- Technical background in engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with local and international MEP suppliers.
- Previous experience coordinating with site teams or project engineers.
- Experience with ERP/procurement software.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary, plus performance-based bonuses.
- Friendly, collaborative team who actually enjoy working together.
- Opportunity to see the impact of your work—in real buildings, not just spreadsheets.
- Flexible approach to remote work for documentation tasks, with energetic, hands-on project meetings onsite.
- Room to grow: we promote from within, and have a solid track record of helping employees upskill.
- Annual team outings and regular “thank you” lunches (we know good work deserves good food).
Here, you won’t just be processing orders—you’ll be playing a key part in what keeps our projects running and our team proud of what we build.
