About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Curious about the pivotal role behind every safe, seamless heavy lift? As an Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (APLO), you’ll play that key part—ensuring each movement runs like clockwork and everyone heads home safely at the end of the day. If you like blending practical problem-solving with a hands-on, safety-first mindset, this role in Mezyad, Al is one where every decision you make truly matters. Plus, with only one opening, you’ll be stepping into a trusted spot integral to the team and operations.

About the Company

Here in Mezyad, Al, our team is proud to set the gold standard for lifting operations, especially under TAQA approval. You won’t find a stale, top-down environment—we believe in open communication, daily collaboration, and recognizing every person’s expertise. Our crew cares about each other’s safety and success, often sharing best practices over morning briefings or celebrating project milestones with a well-earned group lunch (the local spot’s karak is our go-to). If you’re looking for a close-knit workplace where your voice can shape our practices, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and reviewing lift plans that prioritize both efficiency and safety before any operation begins.
  • Supervising all site lifting activities, from pre-lift checklists to post-operation debriefs.
  • Authorizing lifting operations by issuing permits and ensuring all team members are clear on roles and protocols.
  • Upholding TAQA and local safety standards, spotting and eliminating risks before they become problems.
  • Conducting detailed risk assessments tailored to each unique lifting task, adjusting plans as weather, equipment, or circumstance change.
  • Collaborating with rigging, engineering, and HSE teams to troubleshoot on the fly and continuously improve workplace procedures.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Proven TAQA (Abu Dhabi National Energy Company) approval as an Appointed Person for Lifting Operations.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the world of lifting operations, with a solid track record in both planning and on-site supervision.
  • Deep knowledge of lifting equipment, best safety practices, and local Mezyad or UAE regulatory landscape.
  • Confidence issuing permits and leading toolbox talks—others naturally look to you for guidance on the floor.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Strong communication skills, whether you’re mentoring a junior operator or working with external inspectors.
  • Flexibility and a proactive mindset—quickly adapting plans as operational needs shift.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • AED 7,000 monthly salary with reliable, on-time pay.
  • Join a stable crew that values your expertise—and your input on process improvements.
  • Regular on-the-job safety training and opportunities to further your lifting qualifications.
  • Close camaraderie: small team means your impact is visible (and appreciated!).
  • Supportive management that understands the demands and importance of your role.
  • Based in Mezyad, Al—avoid the city rush, work where your skills are in high demand.

It’s more than just a job—it’s a chance to keep people safe, drive operational excellence, and shape the future of our team. If you’re looking to make your mark and be part of a trusted group, this could be your next home.
