About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever pictured yourself helping to lay the foundations — literally — for a company poised for growth in the UAE? If you're a Civil Engineer ready to roll up your sleeves, this could be your moment. We're a startup with big ambitions, and we're on the lookout for someone who not only knows their way around site plans but is excited to help shape the way we build, operate, and grow. Things move fast here, so if you thrive on variety and don't mind a bit of dust on your boots, keep reading.

About the Company

We're not your average contracting firm — and we like it that way. As a newly launched company in Abu Dhabi's vibrant construction scene, we're obsessed with smart solutions, rigorous quality, and giving our early team members a real voice (not just a seat at the table). Think of us as a close-knit crew: nimble enough to try new things, but serious when it comes to standards. You’ll sometimes find us swapping coffee recommendations during site visits or marking the end of a busy week with impromptu team lunches. Here, your impact is visible — sometimes, it’s literally set in concrete.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and supervising site activities: from material deliveries to contractor coordination, you’ll keep projects moving safely and on schedule.
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications with a keen eye — flagging inconsistencies before they become headaches onsite.
  • Liaising directly with clients, consultants, and suppliers to keep everyone in the loop and ensure project requirements are crystal clear.
  • Preparing site progress reports and keeping meticulous documentation of key project milestones.
  • Solving daily on-site challenges — you’re the go-to for technical hiccups, big or small.
  • Ensuring compliance with Abu Dhabi’s engineering standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Providing mentorship to junior engineers as our team grows.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Successfully passed the required UAE professional examination.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant civil engineering experience (ideally in building or infrastructure projects).
  • Valid Abu Dhabi Engineers Registration (no exceptions here, please).
  • Available to start right away — we’ve got projects waiting for you.
  • A driver’s license — you'll be hitting multiple sites across town.
  • Strong communication skills plus a knack for problem-solving, even under pressure.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous startup or small team experience — flexibility is key here.
  • Familiarity with Abu Dhabi’s latest construction regulations and best practices.
  • Working proficiency in CAD and project management tools.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Company vehicle provided from day one so you’re not at the mercy of taxis or the midday heat.
  • Be at the heart of a growing company — your ideas won’t just be heard, they’ll help steer our future.
  • Fast-tracked career growth: as the company expands, you grow right along with us.
  • Supportive, entrepreneurial team spirit — we celebrate wins and tackle challenges together.
  • Flexible, hands-on environment where no two days are the same.

If you’re after a role where you’ll see the direct results of your work and enjoy a degree of autonomy that’s rare in bigger firms, you might just find your fit with us.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your recent experience managing site operations for building or infrastructure projects in the UAE? What were your key responsibilities on-site?
  • How do you typically review and interpret site drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance requirements?
  • Tell us about a time you identified a discrepancy in project documents or plans—how did you resolve it before it impacted construction progress?
  • What strategies do you use to effectively coordinate between contractors, suppliers, and consultants, especially when timelines are tight?
  • Describe your familiarity with Abu Dhabi engineering codes and construction regulations. How do you stay updated on changes in local standards?
  • Have you used CAD or project management tools to plan or track site progress? If so, which ones, and how have they helped your workflow?
  • Share a challenging on-site technical issue you’ve encountered. What steps did you take to troubleshoot and resolve it under pressure?
  • When leading a small team or providing mentorship, how do you approach supporting junior engineers while balancing your own workload?
  • Imagine you’re facing an unexpected material delivery delay that could jeopardize the project schedule. What’s your immediate course of action?
  • Can you recall a situation where communication was critical to prevent a costly mistake onsite? How did you manage stakeholder expectations and keep everyone aligned?
  • What appeals to you about working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment where roles can shift day-to-day?
  • How do you handle feedback or differing opinions in a close-knit team, particularly when it comes to improving site practices?
  • Given that we value hands-on involvement and visible impact, how do you ensure your contributions drive both quality outcomes and team morale?
  • What motivates you most when you see a project move from early sitework to completion, especially with a growing company?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a civil engineer with at least four years of relevant UAE experience, a valid Abu Dhabi Engineers Registration, and the ability to lead site activities in a startup setting, you should expect a monthly salary in the range of 10,000 to 14,000 AED. Similar roles in the Abu Dhabi construction sector typically offer within this range, and packages may also include additional benefits such as a company vehicle, which is already mentioned here. If you bring extra skills or startup experience, you may be able to negotiate on the higher end of that spectrum.
