About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Curious what it’s like to see a project rise from blueprints to skyline in one of the world’s most vibrant cities? We’re LAZOURDY, and we’re looking for a Civil Planning Engineer who’s ready to help shape Abu Dhabi’s evolving landscape. This isn’t just about schedules and spreadsheets—it’s about being the steady hand guiding complex contracting projects, where your planning expertise will truly drive success. If you have a knack for turning ambitious ideas into organized reality, you might just find your next home here.
About the Company
LAZOURDY is more than just a contracting company—it’s a close-knit team that treats each project as a collaboration, not a transaction. Our culture values open communication, hands-on problem-solving, and a genuine spirit of mentorship. You’ll find senior engineers sharing insights over strong coffee, regular site visits that always end with a debrief and a laugh, and the sort of transparency that makes everyone feel part of something bigger. We’re actively growing, but never at the cost of what makes us—well, us.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating and maintaining detailed project schedules that keep complex civil engineering projects on track, from pre-construction through handover
- Collaborating with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams to track progress and adapt timelines when needed
- Preparing short-term and long-term planning reports, schedule updates, and what-if scenarios using Primavera or similar planning tools
- Monitoring site activities and reporting on real-time progress, highlighting delays or bottlenecks before they become critical
- Reviewing subcontractor schedules and ensuring alignment with the master project plan
- Attending site meetings—sometimes with muddy boots—translating on-the-ground realities into the project plan
- Communicating risks and recommending practical recovery strategies when timelines slip
- Keeping stakeholders informed and confident—no surprises, just clear, regular updates
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Proven experience in planning roles within the civil contracting industry—ideally with projects here in the Gulf
- Solid hands-on knowledge of planning/scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
- A keen eye for detail, and the analytical skills to foresee project risks or bottlenecks
- Strong communication skills—able to bridge the gap between field teams and upper management
- Abu Dhabi or wider UAE project experience is a distinct advantage
Nice-to-Haves
- Membership in a recognized professional engineering body
- Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or high-rise projects
- Familiarity with local authority processes and permitting
- The ability to handle a spreadsheet while fielding three phone calls (kidding… sort of!)
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary and annual performance-based reviews
- Medical insurance and end of service benefits, in line with UAE law
- Supportive environment—expect mentorship, not micromanagement
- Opportunity to work on iconic projects shaping Abu Dhabi’s cityscape
- Regular team gatherings, whether it’s a project milestone lunch or a simple post-site coffee
- Exposure to industry best practices and continuous professional growth
- A sense of belonging—here, your contributions matter, and so does your well-being
At LAZOURDY, you won’t just be fitting into a role—you’ll be building a career you can be proud of. Come see what we’re constructing—brick by brick, together.
