About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Ever wondered how a simple sketch evolves into a stunning space that leaves everyone in awe? Here at Lord Furniture Factory, we’re offering you the chance to bring imaginative interiors to life as our new Drafts Lady. If AutoCAD is practically your second language and you’re passionate about shaping spaces in Sharjah and Dubai, this could be your perfect next chapter. Not only will you sharpen your technical chops, but you’ll also get to see your ideas translated into realities that people live and work in every day. Ready to go from lines to lifestyles?

About the Company

At Lord Furniture Factory, we believe that great design starts with great collaboration — and maybe a cup of karak in our cozy Sharjah office. For two decades, we’ve blended craft, technology, and creativity to transform commercial and residential spaces across the UAE. Our team is a spirited bunch, with hands-on leaders and designers who celebrate weekly project wins and share Pinterest boards like they’re trading cards. Here, you’re not just a cog in the machine; your work echoes in every finished desk, partition, and bespoke lounge we deliver.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Draft detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD for bespoke furniture and interior projects (yes, you get to shape the real look and feel).
  • Collaborate daily with project managers, designers, and production teams to ensure every piece and plan hits both form and function.
  • Revise, refine, and update drawings based on client feedback and evolving site requirements — adaptability is part of the fun.
  • Assist in preparing clear, accurate shop drawings and joinery details for our craftsmen to follow on the shop floor.
  • Participate in site visits across Sharjah and Dubai to better understand real-world conditions and bring sketches off the page.
  • Balance multiple projects in a fast-moving environment, always with an eye for detail and deadlines.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Solid hands-on experience with AutoCAD (both 2D & 3D drafting — you can toggle views with your eyes closed).
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in furniture design or interior fit-out drawings.
  • Strong spatial sense and a keen eye for proportion and detail.
  • Good communication skills — you’re comfortable voicing design ideas and clarifying technical questions.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous work on joinery, carpentry, or bespoke furniture projects.
  • Experience with additional design tools like SketchUp or 3ds Max.
  • An organized work style that brings calm to busy timelines.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary, reviewed annually.
  • 6-day on-site work week with occasional site visits (never a dull day).
  • Creative, supportive team always willing to share insights (and lunch recommendations).
  • Opportunity to see your drafts manufactured and installed — so much more than paper and pixels.
  • Direct mentorship from industry veterans; your professional growth is a priority.
  • Celebratory project milestones, casual office vibe, and real ownership of your work.

At Lord Furniture Factory, it’s not just about making furniture — it’s about making your mark on spaces across Sharjah and Dubai, one brilliant drawing at a time.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your process for creating detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings, specifically tailored to bespoke furniture or interior fit-out projects?
  • Describe a time when you had to revise your designs multiple times based on evolving client feedback or unexpected site conditions. How did you handle these changes while keeping quality and deadlines in check?
  • What strategies do you use to ensure your shop drawings and joinery details are clear and easy for craftsmen to interpret on the shop floor?
  • How do you balance creativity and practicality when collaborating with project managers and production teams on space planning for furniture or interiors?
  • Tell us about your experience working on site visits. How do you use observations from the site to improve or adapt your drafts?
  • Have you worked with design tools like SketchUp or 3ds Max? If so, how do you decide which software to use for different aspects of a project?
  • Can you share an example of a project where your strong sense of proportion and attention to detail significantly influenced the final outcome?
  • How do you manage your workflow and stay organized when juggling several projects in a fast-paced environment?
  • Describe a situation where you had to communicate a complex design idea or technical detail to someone without a technical background. How did you make sure your point got across?
  • Our team thrives on collaboration and creative exchange. How do you approach brainstorming sessions or group critiques with designers and project leads?
  • In a hands-on environment where timelines are tight and site work is involved, what keeps you motivated and focused on the bigger picture?
  • We value team members who embrace feedback and view mistakes as opportunities to learn. Can you tell us about a piece of constructive criticism you received and how it shaped your approach?
  • What excites you most about seeing your drawings come to life in actual furniture and finished spaces?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a drafting role focused on furniture and interior fit-out projects with 1–2 years of experience in the UAE, you should expect a monthly salary in the range of 3,500–5,000 AED, depending on your technical skills and familiarity with specialized joinery drawings. Similar positions in Sharjah and Dubai typically offer within this bracket for candidates with solid AutoCAD abilities and on-site exposure, and you might negotiate higher if you bring additional skills like 3D modeling or experience in bespoke furniture.
