What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating detailed technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and, occasionally, other design software as project scope requires
- Interpreting architectural and engineering specifications to produce clear, accurate drafts for construction teams
- Coordinating closely with engineers and architects to clarify design intent, resolve discrepancies, and refine plans
- Ensuring all drawings comply with UAE local codes, standards, and project-specific requirements
- Revising drawings based on feedback, site changes, or evolving project needs — flexibility is key!
- Maintaining organized digital and paper archives of all project drawings, revisions, and supporting documents
- Occasionally participating in site visits to better understand on-the-ground requirements and confirm alignment with drawings
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- 2–3 years of drafting experience in the UAE, ideally within the construction or MEP sectors
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (bonus points if you’ve dabbled in Revit or similar tools)
- Strong grasp of technical drawing standards and local regulations
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications, plans, and engineering notes
- Collaborative spirit and clear communication skills — you’ll be talking to engineers, architects, and sometimes even site supervisors
- Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Nice-to-Haves:
- Prior experience with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drafting
- Familiarity with additional design software (e.g., SketchUp, 3ds Max)
- Some exposure to site work or construction processes
