About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever pictured yourself stepping straight from the university classroom onto a real construction site, blueprint in hand? Here’s your chance: we’re looking for a Fresh Graduate Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Masfut, Ajman. It's more than just your first job — it's an opportunity to see your technical knowledge turned into real structures, on the ground and in the community. If you’re eager to dive into the world of contracting and bring your academic foundations to life, you might be just who we're looking for.
About the Company
We’re a close-knit contracting firm known for tackling projects that actually matter—bridges, residential spaces, community centers, you name it. Our team is a mix of industry veterans and young talent, and we take work-life balance seriously (our famous Thursday tea breaks are proof). Everyone, from site supervisors to interns, has a seat at the table and a voice in how we grow. We’re at an exciting stage right now, taking on larger, more diverse projects—and we think fresh perspectives are a big part of that momentum.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting senior engineers and supervisors on active construction sites in Masfut and surrounding areas
- Preparing and modifying AutoCAD drawings to match design requirements and on-site developments
- Assisting with material tracking, progress reports, and scheduling updates—there’s always plenty to organize
- Participating in site meetings to discuss daily plans, progress, and safety
- Checking in with contractors and vendors, ensuring that everyone’s on the same page
- Learning the ropes (and yes, sometimes getting your boots a little dusty) as you transition from theory to practice
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (recent graduates welcome!)
- Comfortable with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office—spreadsheets and site plans both excite you
- Willingness to spend time on construction sites and tackle hands-on challenges
- Solid communication skills—you’re happy speaking up in meetings and asking questions
- Genuine eagerness to learn, adapt, and take feedback (everyone’s a learner here)
- Enjoys working as part of a team—collaboration is at the heart of what we do
- UAE driving license is a plus, but not a dealbreaker
Not sure you check every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Supportive mentorship from a team that remembers what it’s like starting out
- Real projects from day one—no “coffee runs” unless you’re grabbing one for yourself
- Friendly, approachable colleagues who celebrate wins both big and small
- Open-door policy: have an idea, question, or suggestion? We want to hear it
- Competitive entry-level salary and benefit package
- Opportunities for professional development and on-the-job learning
- A refreshing mix of structure and flexibility—plus enough challenges to keep things interesting
You’ll gain plenty of hands-on experience and, perhaps, some new friends along the way. Here, your first step is just the beginning of a rewarding career in civil engineering.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through your experience using AutoCAD at university—can you give an example of a project where you used it to solve a design or site-related challenge?
- Imagine you’re reviewing construction drawings on-site and a supervisor asks you to quickly update them after an unexpected design change. How would you handle that situation?
- What aspects of your civil engineering degree do you feel have best prepared you for hands-on work at a construction site, and where do you see your learning curve being steepest?
- Can you explain how you would organize and track materials or daily progress reports for a small site project with multiple contractors involved?
- Tell me about a time you had to collaborate with classmates or staff on a project with a tight deadline. What was your role, and how did you contribute to the team’s success?
- How would you approach a situation where you’re new on site, you spot a possible safety concern, and most of the contractors are more experienced than you?
- Describe a moment when you received feedback that challenged you. How did you respond, and what did you take away from that experience?
- If a senior engineer asks you to prepare a report on site progress and you’ve never done that exact task before, what steps would you take to ensure it meets their expectations?
- Tell us about a time when a plan or task didn’t go as you expected—how did you adapt?
- What motivates you most about starting your career in a company known for community-focused projects rather than in a larger corporate environment?
- How do you see yourself contributing to an open, collaborative team culture where anyone can share ideas, regardless of their title or experience?
- Our team values balancing hard work with connection and fun (like our Thursday tea breaks). How do you maintain this balance in your own life, especially when work gets demanding?
- Why are you specifically excited to work on-site in Masfut and for a company that’s keen on hands-on contribution from junior team members?
