What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to ensure compliance with local and international HSE standards
- Collaborate with coaches, athletes, and support staff to foster a proactive culture of safety and health
- Design and deliver training sessions on occupational hazards and preventive best practices
- Investigate incidents, analyze root causes, and coordinate follow-up actions for continuous improvement
- Maintain up-to-date safety documentation, records, and reports for all procedures and protocols
- Recommend innovative solutions to minimize risks unique to sports complex operations
- Be an on-the-ground resource for questions, guidance, and quick problem-solving when it comes to HSE concerns
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Advanced university degree (Bachelor’s or higher, preferably in a relevant discipline)
- NEBOSH certification (recent or in good standing)
- Demonstrated experience implementing HSE standards, ideally within sports or recreation settings
- Practical knowledge of occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Strong observational skills, with the ability to spot (and solve) potential hazards before they become actual problems
- Clear communicator who can relate to everyone from athletes to administrators
Nice-to-Haves:
- Previous experience in a university, research, or multi-use sports facility environment
- Familiarity with the unique occupational health considerations in athletic or youth-focused settings
