About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it’s like to turn a client’s big idea into crafted reality—while enjoying the fast-paced buzz of Dubai’s growing interiors market? We’re looking for a Joinery & Fit Outs Sales Engineer (or Salesman) who truly knows their way around the joinery world. If you’ve ever walked a site, sized up timber with a practiced eye, or wrangled client expectations into successful deliveries, you’ll know what sets this role apart: your know-how doesn’t just help close deals—it actually shapes the finished product.

About the Company

We’re a tight-knit joinery and fit-outs specialist based in Al Quoz 1, Dubai, with a reputation for reliability and hands-on expertise in custom woodwork and interior carpentry. Our team is a blend of seasoned craftspeople and energetic project hustlers, always ready to roll up their sleeves (sometimes literally—especially on coffee-fueled Monday mornings in the workshop). We believe in honest work, mutual respect, and celebrating a job well done—whether that’s a chic boutique fit-out or a sprawling office space transformation. Growth here is real: if you’re driven, you’ll never be just a number.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Engage directly with clients to understand their joinery and fit-out needs and convert them into actionable project briefs
  • Prepare and submit detailed quotations, tenders, and cost proposals that reflect both customer aspirations and workshop realities
  • Visit sites to take measurements, assess project requirements, and develop winning strategies for precise execution
  • Coordinate internally with design, production, and installation teams, making sure everyone’s on the same page
  • Track leads, negotiate deals, and follow up with customers from first handshake (or email) to project handover
  • Stay updated with market trends, materials, and pricing—never missing a chance to introduce a better solution
  • Help maintain a healthy project pipeline by spotting new business opportunities and nurturing long-term client relationships
  • Sometimes, pitch in with site visits or technical clarifications—there’s no “that’s not my job” here

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

Must-Haves:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in joinery, interiors, fit-outs, or carpentry (sales, site supervision, foreman, or master carpenter roles in UAE/Gulf region especially valued)
  • Working knowledge of joinery and woodwork processes, materials, and terminology—your technical credibility matters here
  • Ability to prepare accurate estimates and convert technical project requirements into actionable offers
  • Firsthand experience collaborating with clients, subcontractors, and production teams
  • UAE driving license (must be comfortable moving between sites and office)

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Existing client contacts in Dubai or the wider Gulf region
  • Fluency in more than one local language
  • Background in interior design or technical drawing
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here (Benefits & Perks)

  • Competitive base salary between AED 5,000 and 7,000, plus commission for every successful deal
  • Results-based growth: your effort and success directly impact your earnings (and the company’s expansion)
  • Open, supportive work culture—ideas from the shop floor are valued as much as those from the sales office
  • On-the-ground exposure to projects from start to finish, so you never feel disconnected from your work
  • Flexible approach to work—site visits, client meetings, and office time aren’t just tolerated, they’re encouraged
  • Occasional team get-togethers (yes, we take our celebratory BBQs seriously)

We’re passionate about what we build and who we build with. Here, your skills won’t just be recognized—they’ll help shape the spaces people use every day. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, you might just find your next professional home with us.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your process for preparing a detailed quotation on a custom joinery fit-out project—how do you balance client aspirations with practical workshop considerations?
  • Tell us about a time you visited a site and uncovered a challenge or opportunity that significantly impacted the final design or execution. How did you address it?
  • What experience do you have coordinating between design, production, and installation teams—especially when there are conflicting priorities or tight deadlines?
  • How comfortable are you with reading technical drawings or using software like AutoCAD for project scoping? Can you share an example where this skill made a difference in your work?
  • When negotiating with a client who’s focused mainly on cost, how do you justify quality materials or specific design elements without losing the deal?
  • If you joined us, what strategies would you use to develop new business and nurture existing client relationships in Dubai’s interiors market?
  • Describe a situation where you had to juggle multiple projects and client expectations at once. How did you manage your time and communication to ensure everything ran smoothly?
  • Sometimes unforeseen issues pop up on site. Can you give an example of how you handled a technical clarification or reactive problem-solving under pressure?
  • How do you stay updated on trends, materials, and pricing in the joinery and interiors industry, and how do you apply that knowledge to benefit your clients?
  • Our company values hands-on, honest work and a team-based environment. Can you share an experience working in a collaborative setting where “that’s not my job” wasn’t an option?
  • What do you enjoy most about working directly with clients from the first meet-and-greet all the way to project handover?
  • In this fast-paced industry, how do you ensure clear and respectful communication between site workers, project managers, and clients?
  • We take our celebratory BBQs as seriously as our deadlines. How do you contribute to a positive, open team culture both on and off site?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

The offered salary range of AED 5,000 to 7,000 per month, plus commission, reflects typical starting compensation for joinery and fit-out sales roles in Dubai, especially for professionals with 1–2 years of relevant experience. This package is common among growing teams and dynamic environments, allowing motivated individuals to boost their earnings through performance-linked incentives. Additionally, the structure provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on project exposure and advance your career within a supportive and well-respected company.
