About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever thought about what it really means to see a high-rise or state-of-the-art residential block come to life, beam by beam, wire by wire? As a Site Mechanical or Electrical Engineer here, you’re not just executing plans — you’re literally making blueprints leap off the page and into the Dubai skyline. This opportunity is perfect for those who thrive in the thick of on-site action and have a knack for MEP work in complex, fast-paced environments. If transforming ambitious designs into solid foundations and perfectly powered floors sounds like your kind of challenge, keep reading.

About the Company

We’re not just another construction firm marking milestones across the UAE. We’re a close-knit team who care about precision, progress, and people — with decades of combined experience constructing everything from landmark commercial complexes to vibrant residential communities. Collaboration and a bit of healthy debate? That’s our daily fuel. You’ll find our project managers swapping stories at lunch, and don’t be surprised if the occasional impromptu technical brainstorm sparks up during a coffee break. We’re always looking for sharp minds who bring positive energy and practical smarts to every site.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing and coordinating site execution of mechanical and electrical installation works (you’ll be the go-to for making sure everything clicks, literally and figuratively)
  • Supervising subcontractors, labor teams, and suppliers to ensure that every nut, bolt, conduit, and pipe is right where it should be
  • Reviewing shop drawings and as-built documentation, cross-checking them with site realities, and flagging any discrepancies for swift resolution
  • Running regular site meetings with stakeholders — from consultants to client reps — and keeping everyone aligned on progress, snags, and next steps
  • Identifying technical solutions in real-time when field conditions throw a surprise your way
  • Maintaining rigorous safety protocols so that the only thing getting built is the project, not risk
  • Communicating daily site progress and critical updates in clear, actionable reports
  • Supporting testing and commissioning phases to ensure seamless handovers at every stage
  • Mentoring junior engineers and site supervisors when they need a guiding hand or a fresh perspective

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • At least 8 years’ hands-on site experience with MEP works in the UAE construction sector
  • Strong background in executing, supervising, and coordinating large-scale residential or commercial projects
  • Proven communication skills — you’re just as comfortable briefing a contractor as you are hashing it out with a consultant
  • Deep knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and standards for mechanical or electrical engineering in the UAE
  • Ability to read, interpret, and act on technical drawings and project requirements
  • A can-do, problem-solving mindset — because site work rarely follows the script

Nice-to-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience working with international consultants or developers
  • Exposure to green building standards or smart systems installation
  • Familiarity with advanced project management software

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here (Benefits & Perks)

  • Highly competitive salary package, reflective of your experience and impact
  • Opportunities for career growth in a stable, steadily expanding company
  • Supportive, collaborative work culture — your voice gets heard on and off the site
  • Ongoing technical training and professional development
  • Flexible work arrangements for the occasional out-of-site reporting or planning days
  • Regular team-building events and recognition programs (and yes, we think a well-timed team barbecue counts as both)

Here, your technical skill isn’t just valued — it’s celebrated. Build more than just buildings; build a career you’re proud of, with a team that believes great projects start with passionate people.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through a recent MEP installation you led on a large-scale site, highlighting any complex coordination issues you encountered and how you resolved them?
  • How do you ensure that your supervision of subcontractors and labor teams consistently meets both safety and quality standards, especially when project timelines are tight?
  • Imagine you receive shop drawings that don’t align with on-site conditions. How do you approach identifying, communicating, and resolving these discrepancies?
  • What steps do you take to make sure your sites strictly comply with UAE-specific MEP codes and regulations, and how do you stay updated on evolving standards?
  • Share a time when an unexpected issue arose during commissioning or handover — how did you tackle it under pressure, and what was the result?
  • When managing several stakeholders, how do you keep site meetings focused and productive while balancing client concerns with technical priorities?
  • Tell us about a situation where you had to adapt quickly because the site or project scope suddenly changed. What actions did you take to keep work on track?
  • Can you describe how you support and mentor junior engineers or supervisors on your team, especially when they face challenges beyond their immediate experience?
  • In past roles, how have you used project management software or digital tools to monitor site progress and streamline reporting?
  • How would you handle a disagreement between a consultant and a contractor on your site regarding technical execution?
  • Our team values practical problem-solvers. Can you give an example of how your can-do mindset made a difference for a project deadline or site challenge?
  • What attracts you to working in our kind of collaborative, debate-friendly culture, and how do you contribute to a positive team dynamic?
  • We aim for open communication both on and off the site. What communication practices or habits have you found most effective in fostering trust among diverse project teams?
  • Which recent industry trend, like green building or smart systems, excites you the most, and how would you advocate for its adoption on our sites?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis
