About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever thought about seeing your team’s work transform into a lasting part of Abu Dhabi’s skyline? Here’s your chance. We’re looking for a classified and licensed contractor to submit a quotation for the construction of a ground-floor residential annex in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Zone 8. If you take pride in delivering quality builds and relish the idea of shaping a family’s future home, this opportunity is tailor-made for you.

About the Client

This project represents more than just bricks and mortar — it’s about creating a space where life unfolds. The client is a family-oriented household in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, seeking thoughtful, efficient expansion with a trusted Abu Dhabi-based contractor. Communication is straightforward and decisions are collaborative, so if you value clear expectations and respectful partnerships, you’ll feel right at home here. (And yes, they appreciate a hands-on team who takes care in both planning and finishing touches.)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct a thorough site visit in Zone 8 of Mohammed Bin Zayed City to assess existing conditions and envision the best approach
  • Prepare and submit a competitive, detailed quotation that covers all project aspects — from site prep to kitchen and bathroom installations
  • Work closely with the client to clarify specific annex components (e.g., bedrooms, Majlis, kitchen, bathrooms, and their configurations)
  • Coordinate with design professionals as needed to finalize blueprints and obtain necessary permits
  • Schedule and oversee construction, ensuring all work complies with Abu Dhabi municipal regulations and reflects high craftsmanship
  • Provide regular updates and adapt to feedback throughout the build — transparency is key here
  • Manage material sourcing, budgeting, and on-site safety for a smooth, timely delivery
  • Address client queries with professionalism and a proactive spirit throughout the project lifecycle

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Valid classification and contracting license in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
  • Demonstrated experience in residential construction, preferably single-story annexes or extensions
  • Good standing with relevant municipal authorities and familiarity with local building codes
  • Ability to supply detailed quotations and realistic project timelines
  • Proven commitment to quality workmanship and safe site practices
  • Clear communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus but not mandatory)

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Portfolio with similar annex or villa projects in MBZ City or greater Abu Dhabi
  • Established relationships with local suppliers and inspectors
  • Flexible, solution-oriented mindset for on-the-ground challenges

Not sure you tick every box? Let’s talk — we welcome proposals from passionate contractors ready to impress.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Direct engagement — work closely with a receptive client who values good builders
  • Opportunity to shape a lasting, lived-in space in a prominent Abu Dhabi neighborhood
  • Timely payments and clear project milestones (no late surprises)
  • Supportive collaboration with designers and other professionals as needed
  • Potential for repeat business or referrals on future projects

At the end of the day, this is the kind of project that not only fills your pipeline but makes you proud when you drive by. Ready to build something meaningful?

Common Interview Questions and Tips

  • What are some of the unique regulatory requirements in Abu Dhabi that must be considered during residential construction, and how do you ensure ongoing compliance throughout a project?
  • Tell us about a time you had to resolve unexpected issues on-site—what process did you follow, and how did you adapt your plans to maintain quality and timeline?
  • How do you coordinate with design professionals and ensure blueprints are finalized efficiently while aligning with client expectations?
  • Can you describe your experience sourcing materials locally in Abu Dhabi, and how your supplier relationships have benefited past projects?
  • When providing project updates to clients, what steps do you take to communicate progress clearly and transparently, especially if there are changes or delays?
  • Share an example of how you’ve built trust with a family or client during a residential build—what strategies helped strengthen that partnership?
  • In situations where a client requests design adjustments mid-project, how do you manage their feedback while still maintaining budget and schedule integrity?
  • Tell us about your approach to on-site safety—what practices do you implement to ensure a safe and secure environment for your team and the client?
  • How comfortable are you working in a collaborative, family-oriented setting where decisions are made together and feedback is ongoing?
  • What motivates you in seeing your work turned into a lasting home for a family, and how does that influence your commitment to craftsmanship?
  • If you haven’t worked in Mohammed Bin Zayed City before, what steps would you take to quickly familiarize yourself with this area’s specific requirements and community expectations?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a classified and licensed contractor leading residential annex projects in Abu Dhabi, you should expect to quote with a monthly profit in mind, after costs, in the range of 15,000–25,000 AED for hands-on project management of similar ground-floor extensions. If you’re working as an employed project manager within a reputable contracting firm, salary packages for this level of responsibility, especially in high-demand neighborhoods like Mohammed Bin Zayed City, typically fall between 10,000–18,000 AED per month, depending on your experience and portfolio. Be sure your proposal reflects not just labor and material costs, but also fair compensation for your expertise and compliance with local regulations.
