What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensuring every project site meets or exceeds occupational safety and health (OSH) standards, company policies, and client-specific requirements
- Conducting regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to uncover potential hazards and recommending practical, preventative interventions
- Training site teams—think toolbox talks, workshops, and hands-on demos—to make sure safety is lived, not just listed
- Investigating incidents and near-misses with an open mind, then turning learnings into improved practices
- Collaborating closely with project managers, supervisors, and external inspectors to maintain a culture of safety from day one
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and documentation for all safety activities and compliance efforts
- Serving as the go-to person for safety questions, concerns, and creative solutions
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience (at least 2 years) in a safety officer or similar HSE role within construction or landscaping environments
- Up-to-date knowledge of UAE OSH standards, regulations, and best practices
- Strong observational skills—the ability to spot (and fix) issues proactively
- Comfort speaking up and running engaging safety sessions with diverse teams
- Familiarity with safety documentation, incident reporting, and compliance audits
Nice-to-Haves:
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent health & safety certifications
- Fluency in both English and Arabic
- Previous success driving safety improvements for large project teams
- A knack for digital record-keeping or safety management systems
