About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Looking to bring your woodworking skills to life in a fast-paced, creative environment? As an on-site Carpenter with our exhibitions and events team, you won’t just be building things — you’ll be making experiences. If you thrive on variety, precision, and that unmistakable buzz of a show coming together, this role has your name on it. Immediate joiners are especially welcome, as the projects are ramping up and we’re eager to see what you can do.
About the Company
We’re not your average construction crew. Passionate about transforming empty halls into jaw-dropping spaces, our team specializes in exhibitions and live events throughout the region. There’s a certain camaraderie that comes from racing to the finish line together — Friday project wrap-ups usually involve shared takeout and plenty of laughs. We work hard, hustle under pressure, and genuinely get excited when a client steps into a finished event and says “wow.” If you love the backstage energy of bringing big ideas to life, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Reading technical drawings and blueprints to plan out build and installation steps
- Handling a range of fit-out and carpentry work (think: stands, stages, walls, counters, and custom pieces)
- Working hands-on during set up and breakdown at event sites — often with tight turnarounds
- Delivering high-quality finishes, including sanding, painting, laminating, and surface prep
- Installing fixtures and fittings securely (and troubleshooting on the fly when unexpected issues pop up)
- Modifying or repairing structures as needed, sometimes on a very tight timeline
- Collaborating with project managers, designers, and other build crew members to deliver seamless results
- Maintaining a safe, organized, tool-ready workspace — whether you’re in the workshop or on-site
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- 3+ years of carpentry experience, specifically for exhibitions, events, or interior fit-out projects
- Skill in interpreting technical drawings and executing with minimal supervision
- Strong expertise in finishing, installation, and quick modifications on-site
- Comfort working under time pressure and adapting plans as needed
- Immediate availability to join our crew
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with exhibition venue procedures and health & safety standards
- Experience working in multicultural teams or with international brands
- A keen eye for visual details and practical problem-solving
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary with overtime opportunities during busy show seasons
- Supportive, skilled team that actually appreciates a job well done (and knows how to have fun when the tools are down)
- Regular opportunities to tackle unique, one-of-a-kind projects (no two jobs are ever the same)
- Modern workshop with quality tools and safety-first practices
- Flexible work environment with possibilities for growth into team lead roles
- Team lunches, celebratory dinners after big events, and a company culture built around trust and collaboration
If you like tangible results, tight-knit teams, and the satisfaction of seeing your work in the spotlight, this is the place for you.
