About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever feel like you’re shouting into the void every time you post? Yeah, we know the feeling. That’s exactly why we’re on the hunt for a sharp, hands-on Social Media & Digital Marketing Specialist who gets that a brand isn’t built on scheduled posts alone — it’s built on storytelling, sharp visuals, and campaigns that actually move the needle. If you’re someone who can juggle a camera in one hand and an ads dashboard in the other, this role might just be your new favorite playground.
About the Company
We’re not a faceless corporation with a rigid org chart and a rulebook for everything. Think of us more like a tight-knit crew that’s scaling up fast — the kind of place where your ideas actually get heard and your creative instincts are trusted from day one. We’re big on ownership, experimentation, and celebrating wins (both the big launches and the small daily victories). Our culture is collaborative but independent; we don’t micromanage, but we do expect you to bring your A-game. And yes, we do have a soft spot for spontaneous team lunches and the occasional brainstorming session that turns into a full-blown whiteboard war over campaign names.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning the content calendar across all major social platforms — from Instagram Reels to LinkedIn thought leadership — and making sure everything aligns with our brand voice (and actually looks good).
- Creating content that stops the scroll. That means shooting short-form video, snapping photos, and editing everything into polished, on-brand pieces. You’re not just curating; you’re producing.
- Planning, launching, and optimizing Meta Ads and Google Ads campaigns. You’ll be the one tweaking audiences, A/B testing creatives, and watching the metrics like a hawk to make sure every dollar works harder.
- Monitoring social conversations and engaging with our community in a way that feels human — not like a bot with a canned response.
- Analyzing performance data and turning those insights into actionable next steps. You’ll report on what’s working, what’s flopping, and why — without drowning anyone in jargon.
- Collaborating with the wider team to support product launches, seasonal promos, and brand storytelling initiatives. You’re the bridge between marketing and the real world.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or Digital Marketing Specialist (we’re talking real, measurable results — not just “managed accounts”).
- Solid skills in photography and videography, plus proficiency with editing software (Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut — whatever your weapon of choice is).
- Hands-on experience running Meta Ads and Google Ads, with a portfolio or case studies that show you know your way around ROAS and CTR.
- A sharp eye for design and composition — even if you’re not a full-time graphic designer, you know what looks good and what doesn’t.
- Strong writing chops. You can craft a punchy caption, a compelling ad copy, or a thoughtful response to a comment without breaking a sweat.
- The ability to manage multiple projects at once without dropping the ball. Deadlines are real, and you respect them.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with SEO or email marketing (it’s a bonus, not a dealbreaker).
- Familiarity with scheduling tools like Later, Buffer, or Hootsuite.
- A knack for spotting trends early and adapting them to fit our brand.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you. If you’ve got the passion and the hustle, we’re willing to look past the missing checkbox.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Creative freedom — you won’t have to run every single post through five layers of approval. We trust you, and we want to see what you can do.
- Flexible hybrid setup — we care about output, not just face time. Some days you’ll want to be in the office for shoot days; other days, your couch is the office.
- Genuine growth opportunities — this isn’t a dead-end role. As we scale, you’ll have the chance to shape the digital strategy and grow into a leadership position if that’s where you want to go.
- Real investment in your toolkit — need new gear, software, or a course to upskill? We’re all for it.
- A team that actually likes each other — no toxic competition, no politics. Just people who show up, do great work, and occasionally bond over terrible memes.
At the end of the day, we’re looking for someone who wants to build something meaningful — not just fill a seat. If that sounds like you, we’d love to see what you’ve got.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through a campaign you ran from concept to execution — where did the original idea come from, and how did you decide which platforms and formats would carry it?
- If I handed you a brand-new product with zero existing content and said we need a launch teaser out by Friday, what’s your immediate process? Where do you start, and what does your workflow look like between now and posting?
- Can you show me a piece of content you shot, edited, and published yourself that you're genuinely proud of? What made it work, and what would you tweak if you had to do it over?
- Meta Ads and Google Ads require very different mindsets. How do you approach each one differently when it comes to audience targeting, creative testing, and budget allocation?
- Talk me through a time when an ad campaign was underperforming — how did you diagnose the problem, and what specific changes did you make to turn it around?
- What’s your process for balancing the "always-on" content calendar with reactive, trend-driven content that can't be planned weeks in advance?
- Tell me about a time you had to push back on a stakeholder’s idea because you knew it wouldn't resonate with the audience. How did you handle that conversation, and what was the outcome?
- Describe a moment when a piece of content flopped despite your best instincts. What did you learn from it, and how did that change your approach going forward?
- We're a small team that moves fast — no five layers of approval here. Can you give me an example of a time you owned a project from start to finish with minimal oversight? How did you keep yourself accountable and ensure quality didn't slip?
- How do you stay organized when you're juggling multiple campaigns, content shoots, and community engagement all in the same week? Walk me through your actual day-to-day system.
- We value honest, human engagement over canned responses. How would you handle a
