About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Looking to put your creativity—and technical know-how—to work in the heart of Dubai? We’re searching for an Architect to join our growing team in Business Bay. Whether you’re energized by forward-thinking urban projects or love collaborating with diverse teams, this role offers the chance to make an impact while shaping the city’s dynamic skyline. If you’re already based in the UAE and have a year or more of architectural experience, this might be just the move you’ve been waiting for.

About the Company

Nestled in the lively Business Bay district, our company is known for tackling ambitious architectural projects that blend innovation with practicality. We’re a tight-knit group where input from every team member helps shape the projects we deliver. There’s no rigid hierarchy here—everyone’s voice matters, from the newest junior architect to the founding partners. You’ll find our workspace lively yet focused, with spontaneous brainstorming sessions and the occasional post-work coffee run fueling our creative drive.

Our culture is as much about personal growth as it is about building great structures. Regular design reviews—some formal, some just quick chats over lunch—ensure we’re always learning from one another and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in Dubai’s fast-evolving urban landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborating closely with senior architects to develop design concepts that reflect both the client’s vision and the realities of Dubai’s regulatory environment
  • Producing detailed drawings, 3D models, and presentations to bring your ideas—and the team’s—to life
  • Conducting site visits and liaising with contractors to ensure projects progress smoothly and specifications are met
  • Researching materials, technologies, and sustainability solutions suitable for the local climate
  • Participating in client meetings and communicating design rationale with clarity and enthusiasm
  • Balancing multiple project timelines and adapting to shifting priorities as new challenges arise

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • At least 1 year of professional architectural experience—ideally with projects based in the UAE
  • Currently residing in the United Arab Emirates
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and either Revit or a similar 3D modeling tool
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, multicultural team
  • Detail orientation and a genuine eagerness to learn and grow

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with Dubai Municipality regulations
  • Prior exposure to sustainable design practices
  • Experience presenting to clients or project stakeholders

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary of AED7000 per month
  • Two-year residency permit provided, with option for renewal
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage
  • Supportive, tight-knit team that values new ideas and real collaboration
  • Opportunities for skill development and career growth within the company
  • Prime location in Business Bay with easy access to public transport, cafés, and the energetic pulse of Dubai’s business district
  • A balanced mix of professional challenges and work-life stability—plus, those spontaneous coffee breaks we mentioned earlier

This is a place where your contributions will be recognized, and your ambitions supported. If you’re ready to contribute your skills (and maybe pick up a few new ones), we can’t wait to meet you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you describe a recent project where you contributed to developing design concepts, and explain the process you followed from ideation to final presentation?
  • How have you used AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit in past roles to produce detailed architectural drawings or models? Which tool are you most comfortable with and why?
  • Tell us about a time you had to coordinate with contractors or conduct site visits to ensure project specifications were met. What challenges did you face and how did you resolve them?
  • What’s your experience working within Dubai’s regulatory environment or with local municipality guidelines? If you haven’t, how do you approach learning new regulatory frameworks?
  • Sustainability is increasingly important in architecture. Can you give an example of how you’ve researched or integrated sustainable solutions in your previous designs?
  • Walk us through how you balance multiple project timelines and adjust your workflow when unexpected changes or new priorities arise.
  • Describe a situation where you had to communicate a complex design idea to a client or stakeholder. How did you ensure your vision was clearly understood?
  • Tell me about a time you worked in a team with diverse backgrounds or perspectives. How did that influence the project outcome?
  • How do you seek feedback from peers or mentors, and what have you learned from receiving constructive criticism on your design work?
  • When juggling independent tasks and group collaborations, how do you make sure you’re contributing effectively in both settings?
  • Our team culture thrives on informal brainstorming sessions and open discussions. How do you feel about exchanging ideas in a spontaneous, sometimes fast-paced environment?
  • What motivates you to keep learning and pushing creative boundaries in your architectural work?
  • If you’re presented with a project that’s outside your current comfort zone, what steps do you take to quickly get up to speed and deliver results?
