About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Curious about what it takes to keep homes and businesses secure in a world that’s always changing? As a CCTV and Smart Home Systems Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of bringing comfort, protection, and peace of mind to our clients every single day. This isn’t just about wires and cameras — it’s about empowering people to feel safe and connected, all from the palm of their hand. If you like tinkering with tech and making life easier for others, you’re going to love what we do here.
About the Company
Here, we’re not just installing equipment — we’re building trust, one customer at a time. We’re a tight-knit team known for our hands-on approach, quick thinking, and penchant for the occasional tech joke over lunch. Our growth has come from word-of-mouth, and that’s something we’re proud of. You’ll find that Friday lunch debriefs and spontaneous gadget demos are just part of the culture. Every voice gets heard here, whether you joined us yesterday or in year one.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing, configuring, and testing CCTV surveillance systems — your attention to detail makes all the difference.
- Setting up, programming, and troubleshooting smart home solutions, from doorbell cams to automated lighting and climate control.
- Performing routine maintenance and systems health checks, catching small issues before they become big headaches.
- Guiding customers on how to use their new tech — sometimes that means a quick phone call, sometimes a friendly in-person walkthrough.
- Collaborating with our support team to troubleshoot tricky setups, share know-how, and celebrate a job well done.
- Keeping thorough records of installations and service calls so everyone’s always in the loop.
- Staying up-to-date on the latest trends and solutions — we’re all learning together.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Hands-on experience installing and maintaining CCTV systems — you know your way around wiring, angles, and camera placement.
- Solid understanding of smart home tech: alarms, sensors, automation devices, and app-based controls.
- Comfortable with basic networking: setting up routers, IP addressing, and WiFi troubleshooting is second nature.
- Strong problem-solving skills — you don’t mind rolling up your sleeves when something unexpected pops up.
- Commitment to deadlines and a keen eye for detail; your standards are high, and you like it that way.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Customer service flair — you enjoy showing others how things work (and have the patience to explain things twice, if needed).
- Experience with more advanced setups: multi-site installations, integrated access control, or home theater systems.
- Relevant certifications (but don’t worry if you learned your skills on the job — we get it).
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive pay plus steady opportunities for overtime (if you’re the roll-up-your-sleeves type).
- Flexible working hours and the option for occasional remote troubleshooting — we value work-life balance.
- Regular training get-togethers, demo days, and hands-on workshops to keep your skills sharp and your curiosity piqued.
- Supportive team: friendly banter, shared snacks, and real help when you need it.

- Growth opportunities into project leadership or technical specialist paths as the business expands.
You’ll be joining a place where your technical know-how genuinely helps people and where camaraderie is part of the job. Come see what we’re building — we think you’ll want to stay.
