What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance—yes, you’ll be the one everyone thanks when things just work
- Implementing security and backup solutions, including regular testing and disaster recovery planning (because hope isn’t a strategy)
- Troubleshooting database issues — from slow queries to unexpected downtime — and acting fast to resolve bottlenecks
- Collaborating with software developers and network teams to advise on best data architecture practices
- Managing database installations, upgrades, and patches, while documenting procedures and key changes for future reference
- Assisting with data migration projects as the company grows and adapts
- Regularly reporting on database health and usage — your insights will drive company data policies forward
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- 2+ years of experience as a database administrator (this is not your first rodeo)
- Professional experience with at least one mainstream DBMS (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
- Solid understanding of data backup, restore, and recovery processes
- Proficiency in database scripting, performance tuning, and security protocols
- Currently residing in the UAE (we can’t process overseas applications, sorry!)
- Willingness to work onsite in Dubai Internet City
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience handling large-scale or mission-critical databases
- Knowledge of database automation and monitoring tools
- Comfort working in a multi-cultural, fast-paced team
- Certifications in major database platforms (a big plus, but not a dealbreaker)
