About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever pictured yourself as the kind of person who keeps the pulse of an entire project beating smoothly? As a Document Controller at our established construction firm in Dubai, you’ll be the behind-the-scenes maestro — expertly handling, organizing, and safeguarding the records that keep our most complex projects on track. This is more than just filing paperwork; it’s about being the trusted point of contact that ensures everyone knows where to find the answers, right when they need them.
About the Company
We’re not your average construction outfit. Our story’s rooted in over a decade of ambitious builds across Dubai, ranging from sleek commercial high-rises to innovative infrastructure projects that locals use every single day. Our team is tight-knit but diverse, a mix of seasoned pros and fresh thinkers who genuinely care about the work and each other. Transparent communication is part of our DNA — whether that’s in our project meetings… or our slightly competitive Friday trivia lunches. We move fast, support each other, and know that solid documentation is the backbone of our success.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning the setup, organization, and upkeep of digital and hard-copy project documentation and drawing registers
- Reviewing incoming documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards before circulating to project teams
- Ensuring clear version control — so the latest drawing or contract is always the one in use
- Helping colleagues track down documents (sometimes at warp speed) and responding to their queries like a pro
- Coordinating the distribution of documents between contractors, consultants, and internal project stakeholders
- Regularly archiving completed documents, keeping our records sharp and audit-ready
- Suggesting better ways to streamline our document flow — we love fresh ideas
- Managing confidentiality and access permissions, ensuring only the right eyes see sensitive information
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- At least 2 years of experience in a document control role, ideally within the construction or contracting sector
- Strong grasp of EDMS (Electronic Document Management Systems), with the confidence to teach others when needed
- Detail-oriented and organized — you spot irregularities others might miss
- Good communicator (English is a must; Arabic’s a plus) and a team player who enjoys helping people
- Calm under deadlines, unflappable when surprises crop up
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with ISO standards or QA/QC documentation processes
- Advanced MS Office or SharePoint skills
- Past exposure to large-scale, multi-contractor projects
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary and annual bonus — plus paid overtime if things get hectic
- Supportive, friendly team culture where your opinion matters
- Flexible hours with a hybrid work-from-home option after six months
- Professional development budget to help you grow your skills
- Regular team events, lunches, and (when the mood strikes) a few rounds of table tennis in our communal space
- Modern project sites and a management team that truly values documentation as more than just “paperwork”
We believe great work happens when people feel valued and trusted. If you’re ready to join a group that actually appreciates the unsung magic of a well-organized file, come bring your talents to our team.
