About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Looking for your next hands-on technical challenge? We’re on the hunt for a dedicated MEP Technician to join our close-knit team in Sharjah’s SAIF Zone. If you thrive in an environment where every day brings something new—complex generator setups, precise repairs, and real teamwork—this could be the move you’ve been waiting for. At Technopower Generators, your skills won’t just be appreciated; they’ll be mission-critical.
About the Company
Technopower Generators isn’t just a name—it’s a team united by a single goal: keeping Sharjah powered, efficient, and resilient. Here, pride in our work runs deep, and so does our support for each other. You’ll find engineers who swap troubleshooting tips over karak, supervisors who started in the field, and Friday “fix-it” huddles that genuinely make the week. We’re growing fast and believe the best results come from empowering our people on the ground, not just behind a desk.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install, commission, and maintain the full range of MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing)—with a special focus on generator field jobs, both on-site and in the workshop.
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and ensure all equipment runs reliably (sometimes with a dash of ingenuity during urgent call-outs).
- Work closely with site and service engineers to coordinate schedules, keep job documentation up to date, and communicate progress—no one likes being left in the dark, literally!
- Safely operate and test high-capacity generators, transfer switches, and related electrical panels according to safety and quality guidelines.
- Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems—think HVAC, pumps, piping, and more.
- Support new installations and technical upgrades, providing input on the practicalities you see day-to-day.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections, helping us spot small issues before they become big problems.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Previous hands-on experience in an MEP Technician role, ideally with significant time spent on generator setups, installs, or field troubleshooting.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and basic plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and maintenance manuals.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
- Willingness to work occasional long hours or emergency call-outs—generators don’t wait for perfect timing.
- Good spoken English and/or Hindi; ability to write basic service reports.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Relevant technical certification or diploma.
- Experience working in an industrial or facilities management environment within the UAE.
- Valid UAE driver’s license.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
