About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Are you the kind of person who can't help spotting safety gaps in a construction site—even during a casual stroll? If so, this could be your calling. We’re searching for a Safety Officer / HSE Officer to join our growing contracting company in Dubai, where every day brings a new challenge—and a chance to truly make a difference. Here, your expertise isn’t just a formality; it’s crucial to keeping our teams safe and our projects running smoothly. If the idea of championing safety in a dynamic, hands-on environment excites you, you’ll fit right in with us.
About the Company
We’re a well-established contracting company with deep roots in Dubai’s ever-evolving construction landscape. Our projects span from fit-outs to large-scale commercial developments—each one with its unique rhythm and set of challenges. Teamwork is woven into everything we do: whether we’re huddling in energetic morning briefings or catching up over spontaneous lunches. Professionalism matters, but so does humor, mutual support, and the drive to see each other succeed. In short, we like to think we have just the right mix of grit and camaraderie.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conducting regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensuring that safety protocols are actually followed—not just written down.
- Delivering engaging safety inductions and toolbox talks that stick with the team, not just tick the box.
- Investigating incidents and near-misses, creating reports that go beyond paperwork to real improvements.
- Liaising with stakeholders—construction crews, management, and third parties—to keep everyone aligned on HSE practices.
- Staying up to date with UAE HSE regulations, and making sure our projects don’t just comply, but set the standard.
- Supporting colleagues with practical advice on using PPE and safe work methods, always ready to jump in with solutions (not just critique).
- Preparing concise, actionable documentation for audits, authorities, and internal reviews.
- Acting as an approachable first point of contact for any safety concerns on-site.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- At least 2 years of proven experience working as a Safety Officer, HSE Officer, or Safety Supervisor in the UAE (site-based).
- Emirates ID states Safety Officer, HSE Officer, or Safety Supervisor—this is non-negotiable.
- Solid working knowledge of local safety laws and procedures.
- Strong communication skills—explaining rules is good, but making people care is better.
- Practical mindset paired with a keen attention to detail.
Nice-to-Haves:
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent recognized safety certification.
- Experience in the contracting or construction sector, especially within Dubai.
- Fluency in English (Arabic or other languages are a bonus in our diverse team).
- A calm, approachable personality and a knack for motivating others.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary package recognizing your expertise and drive.
- Immediate start—if you’re ready, so are we.
- Friendly, multicultural teams where hard work gets noticed (and celebrated).
- Ongoing training and pathways to advance in HSE leadership.
- Transparent, approachable management—you’ll always know where you stand.
- A culture that’s serious about safety but knows how to keep things human and supportive.
We believe every voice matters, and every team member has a part to play in our shared success. If you’re passionate about safety, want to grow, and like the idea of joining a company on the rise, this might be your next great move.
