About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces—and ready to make a real difference at the heart of major MEP projects? We’re looking for a Safety Officer who knows UAE sites and standards like the back of their hand, and isn’t afraid to speak up for what’s right. If you thrive in dynamic environments and care deeply about the wellbeing of teams, this could be your chance to step into a really meaningful, hands-on role.
About the Company
We’re a fast-growing electromechanical contractor with landmark projects all over Mohammed Bin Zayed City and beyond. Proudly local but deeply connected to global best practices, our team is a lively mix of seasoned professionals and energetic up-and-comers. Safety isn’t just a checklist here—it’s part of our identity, woven into every morning briefing and toolbox talk. (Our monthly “Safety Hero” award is a big deal. People take real pride in making sure everyone gets home safe, every day.)
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out daily site safety inspections across MEP projects, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and company standards
- Leading on risk assessments—identifying hazards early, and collaborating with teams to develop practical solutions
- Responding swiftly to incidents: investigating, documenting, and driving real, preventative change (not just paperwork)
- Delivering toolbox talks and safety training that actually gets remembered—less “lecture,” more real-world application
- Reviewing subcontractor safety practices, offering guidance and helping everyone up their game
- Promoting a strong, positive safety culture—encouraging open reporting and a proactive mindset across all site staff
- Keeping HSE documentation organized and audit-ready, from ISO 45001 records to permits and inspection logs
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- At least 2 years of UAE experience working as a Safety Officer on electromechanical or MEP projects
- NEBOSH, OSHA, or similar UAE-recognized HSE certification
- Strong knowledge of local HSE regulations and compliance (including ISO 45001)
- Confidence communicating with site crews, engineers, and management alike
- Solid investigation, reporting, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently around Mohammed Bin Zayed City (ME10, C70, M04 projects in particular)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Arabic proficiency
- Experience implementing new safety initiatives or incentive programs
- Previous involvement with “green field” project start-ups
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary and steady project pipeline
- Respectful, multicultural team where safety is leaders’ top priority
- Real opportunities to grow—our best Safety Officers move into leadership or regional roles
- Modern PPE, regular training, and up-to-date industry resources
- Work locally in Mohammed Bin Zayed City (so you’re not commuting across all of Abu Dhabi)
- Open-door management: your ideas matter, and making an impact is possible here
At the end of the day, you’ll be helping build not just infrastructure but trust—every safe project is a win for us all. If you’re looking to make a mark (and maybe even win next month’s “Safety Hero” title), we hope you’ll apply.
